Also a dental extraction and other ongoing care in the year before my cat died from an abdominal tumor. Excellent customer service, clear communication, Thoughtful problem-solving, reasonable treatment plans with shared decision-making. I can’t say enough about their team.”

“Added a guinea to our family but the little fellow came with horrendous nails which I was a bit uncomfortable trying to trim, especially since they are dark and I couldn't see the quick. They scheduled him in a very timely mannerly and from the moment he and I stepped in the clinic door to leaving was less than 15 minutes. The fee for the trim? Ten dollars. I will certainly let them trim his nails rather than worry about hurting him!”

“Coming back to update because the folks here are really just so wonderful. Since our early visits my pup ended up needing five surgeries, four of which were done here (one required a specialist). Not only were the staff fantastic in vet care, they also helped me walk through options, get set up with the specialist, and provide great care whenever we are in town. We're sad to lose them when we move away from VA, but so appreciative and grateful - they even gave great tips on what to look out for in our new area! Cannot recommend their services enough, Sunday and I are beyond grateful for what they do.”

“This veterinary operation is not owned by a hedge fund. That is an immediate positive. Having said that, you need to have confidence in what you think you know about your dog. I understand why most dogs are neutered. My dogs are not. I do not support juvenile neuter. I think you should wait until your dog is fully grown before you make that decision. Initially at this practice I was encouraged to neuter my dog as a juvenile. I did not. I was warned that XYZ behavioral situations could occur. They did not. With my second dog I was also warned XYZ behavioral conditions could occur. I have decided to wait and see. That said, they know what they're doing with the exception of my critiques above. And they're not owned by a hedge fund. Which is a problem occurring in the veterinary clinic and animal insurance organizations.”

“I was new to the area about a year ago and with four cats, knew I wanted a cats only place. It's definitely more serene and catered to felines here which makes visits less stressful. It's very professional and welcoming. Prices are comparable to any other place I have been. Dr. Egan and the entire staff here are wonderful. Love this practice and highly recommend them to any cat owner!”

“I came to Monticello Animal Hospital based on a recommendation from a coworker. I am so happy I found this place! I brought two of my cats here already and have had a great experience each time. The staff is very nice and helpful. We saw both Dr. Heilmeier and Dr. Andersen and they were both very gentle with our cats. They answered all our questions and explained their reasoning for each procedure they elected to do. I am glad I found this place and will continue bringing my pets here for their care. The only feedback I would give is trying to be more transparent with prices. We did not get any out of the world surprise bills or anything like that, but I am used to vets that tell you how much procedures cost beforehand as well. Nevertheless, I am still very satisfied with their services.”

“I’ve used the Vetco clinics previously in the state I used to live in. While the line/wait times were much shorter here, the service can’t be spoken for much, as I wasn’t allowed in the “exam room” (which was actually a closet) with my cats. The vet tech even said they hadn’t taken my first cat totally out of his carrier, so I am not sure how they did a full exam, nor why the door needed to be closed so he didn’t escape. In my previous state, the exams were performed in a room with all window walls so everything was visible & you were allowed in with your pet. The vet had questions about my cat, but couldn’t show me what she was referencing since he was in my arms in his carrier when she was asking after the exam. Had I been allowed to go in with him, the areas in question could’ve been pointed out for me to address in real time. The staff was very friendly, however.”
