“We brought our foal to Blue Ridge Equine as a final measure to address a severe injury sustained after he became entangled in fencing, resulting in a deep laceration and exposed cannon bone. Despite our initial efforts with our home vet involving intensive daily medical management, the injury remained critical. Following his transfer to the Blue Ridge team, the wound has successfully granulated, the bone is protected, and the infection has resolved, with plans for discharge soon. Dr. Trostle and his staff maintained excellent communication through daily updates and adjustments to the care plan. We selected this facility based on Dr. Trostle’s professional reputation, and his team’s responsiveness—including accommodating weekend visits—was exceptional. The facility is well-maintained and professional. We are very appreciative of the high standard of care provided throughout this challenging period.”

“I took my dog and cat in to see Dr. Smith at Ruckersville Animal Hospital. Both of my pets have had bad experiences with other vets, but Dr. Smith was very kind and gentle with both of them. I did not even need to put a muzzle on my dog. I told Dr. Smith that I could not afford to pay for the $2K to $4K surgical process that was being recommended by my current vet's office to remove a stye from my dog's eyelid who also warned me that the stye could come back after surgery. I told Dr. Smith that I needed a second opinion. I am retired and live on a fixed income. Dr. Smith came up with a non-surgical approach and said that if the approach does not remove it, leaving it alone should not bother her eye. He also helped my cat who has developed a skin allergy. I hope he does not mind if I make him my new vet.”

I wanted to go to a vet because it was time for her yearly check-up and booster shots. Plus, I'm traveling with her on a plane for the first time and didn't want her stressed out from the 4-hour flight plus the time in the airport.
Making an appointment is hassle-free on their website. As soon as you walk into the office, they walk you right into the exam room.
My cat gets very anxious if she's in her carrying case for a long time. To my surprise, as soon as she walked into the exam room, I could see how relaxed she was. They use a pheromone plug-in which helps so much to calm cats. I had never ever seen her so relaxed.
The tech and Doctor were so nice and made the experience even better too.”

“Added a guinea to our family but the little fellow came with horrendous nails which I was a bit uncomfortable trying to trim, especially since they are dark and I couldn't see the quick. They scheduled him in a very timely mannerly and from the moment he and I stepped in the clinic door to leaving was less than 15 minutes. The fee for the trim? Ten dollars. I will certainly let them trim his nails rather than worry about hurting him!”

“This veterinary operation is not owned by a hedge fund. That is an immediate positive. Having said that, you need to have confidence in what you think you know about your dog. I understand why most dogs are neutered. My dogs are not. I do not support juvenile neuter. I think you should wait until your dog is fully grown before you make that decision. Initially at this practice I was encouraged to neuter my dog as a juvenile. I did not. I was warned that XYZ behavioral situations could occur. They did not. With my second dog I was also warned XYZ behavioral conditions could occur. I have decided to wait and see. That said, they know what they're doing with the exception of my critiques above. And they're not owned by a hedge fund. Which is a problem occurring in the veterinary clinic and animal insurance organizations.”
“Rocky is a very anxious pit bull mix, but everyone at Banfield has treated him with love and understanding. He gets great care, and everyone takes extra time to explain things to me, an anxious dog Mom. I’d give everyone a 10 out of 10!”

“Earlysville Animal Hospital is a nice, clean, friendly, professional vet practice, and I have greatly appreciated the care our Scotties have received there, but they are more expensive than some vets we’ve used in the past. And I do not recommend getting a prescription filled in house. I discovered they charged me twice the price for a package of Clavamox compared to the average price for the prescription as listed for the state of Virginia. That did make me a little skeptical about their pricing structure.”
