The Refuge Inn is a nostalgic, well-maintained, and comfortable place to stay. Guests describe their stays as wonderful, enjoyable, and relaxing. The rooms are beautiful, cozy, clean, spacious, and comfortable, with some featuring lovely themes. The staff is consistently noted as friendly, helpful, sweet, personable, very accommodating, and happy to serve, often going out of their way for guests. The hotel offers a relaxing pool and hot tub area, and amenities like a DVD library. A unique highlight is the wild ponies on site that guests can see and feed. The property is nicely landscaped and features an observation deck. It is also a short ride to Chincoteague National Park and the lighthouse.
We loved our stay at Refuge Inn! The cozy homey atmosphere of the inn beats the common place repetition of chain hotels. Loved the pool and hot tub with all the plants/flowers around it, landscaped exterior and friendly helpful service. Linens were great, rooms clean.
