This is my local PO. I have always had a good experience. The staff is professional and friendly. I ship Priority Mail to Hawai'i from here, and it has arrived in as quick as 2 days.
I will say that there are many unruly and unkind customers, which in my opinion explains the 3 star ratings.
The staff has to deal with such customers day in and day out, and they do so professionally.
USPS is a Federal job. They don't care about Google reviews. It doesn't hurt nor help them. They just continue doing their job day in and day out, and do it well.
I just wanted to call it like I see it and give credit where it's due.
I'm glad this is my local Post Office. Thanks team!

Excellent customer service. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They explained my options and quickly processed my packages.

Hey, Colonial Heights Post Office for the love of all that is good and wholesome, will you please scan the packages we dropped off nearly a week ago so people can get their items? What the hell???

When you go in to the post office, I would rate them 5 stars. However, for delivery of mail and packages, they get a negative 5. We currently have our home on the market. However, we have not moved, yet. We just received phone calls from two bill collectors that the post office took it upon themselves to return our mail. Prior to this, approximately three weeks ago, they returned an Amazon package that we were expecting; we had to repay for shipping!!!! Two weeks prior to that, they did the same thing. This POST MASTER may want to consider hiring COMPETENT delivery people. How many times do we have to say that we will update our address when we move? How many times do we have to complain about packages being sent back prior to us getting them? How much money are you going to cost us?

Terrible service. The younger employee made sure I bought multiple bubble mailer and used them before mentioning I could use my own mailer without spending all that extra money. I still did not get my item mailed there due to disrespectful behavior. The post office does not deliver mail to my address either. I have had items missing and tickets to events ordered in the mail and have never been delivered, costing me hundreds of dollars. This post office needs help most compared to the shoddy work of others in the area.

He marked my package containing a $200 wooden model of a WW1 German fighter plane with a lot of stamps marked fragile , so when it arrived in California it was all busted up. It appeared as though they tossed it around the post office like a kick ball!!!!

If I could give no stars I would! They allowed me to use tape that iI was told by an employee was something someone left behind. When I turned around to approach the counter all of the cashiers was staring at me. The black lady at the counter watched me tape my box witht he tape and then asked me for the tape. I took it out of my pocket and then she charged me without telling me that is what she was doing. I had to ask did you just charge me! She said yes. I explained that I was told that it was okay to use by an employee and she still charged me for the tape. Also, she was a rude. I personally believe that is a scam! They put the tape over there where you prepare your packages and then waIT FOR YOU TO USE IT! charge you without telling you it was not free. I will no not use USPS anymore for packages ever!.

I come here all the time to ship things off from Mercari, and I've always had a pleasant experience. The staff here is quick and efficient, you'll be in and out in only a minute. There's also a self-serve drop-off box if you already have a shipping label created, which makes the process of mailing things out even more streamlined. This location is very stress-free in my experience, and they usually ship your package out by the next day.

The people at the counter are helpful, and generally friendly. The supervisors will lie to your face about undelivered mail or packages. We still have missing mail from a change of address that was entered correctly and was delivered to our old address!! If it wasn't for having an honest and conscientious realtor, we wouldn't have received that mail!

The young African American girl is not very nice. I asked her for some tape or stapler to close a bag she said “ NO, YOU CAN’T CLOSE IT HERE, YOU HAVE TO BUY SOME TAPE OR SOMETHING”. I have never heard of that before. I didn’t have any cash and I ended up leaving without sending the package. This was the worst experience by far. Smh!
