Fair oaks!! They have the most unprofessional manager who is a staff member in a leadership position whose behavior does not adhere to their organization's code of conduct . I registered a formal complaint today with their customer service relations department. Ironically, another customer in the store had a negative experience there right after my transaction. It was quite loud between the two of them. Clearly, the management is not qualified. Zero star.

It was my first and it will be my last time coming to this location. I really liked a dress and I was wondering if they do have any discount so I asked the first person I saw and they were very rude and cold just telling me to check where I get it from if there is a discount sign. Since I forget where I got it from, I asked nicely if she can scan it for me and she refused, sending me back to look for which part of the store I got it from. so I decided to stop my shopping and leave .
My mom ( a senior ) and my sister were still shopping. My mom lean on a display table as her knees were hurting, and another associate screamed from far: ( Maaam you can’t sit there you have to move!)
My mom felt so embarrassed and we all decided to leave this store .
You should train your employees on respecting every customer and being nicer to seniors!

I have visited this Express store in Fair Oak Mall, VA, many times. My previous experiences with the customer service were positive, but todaythat changed.
The African-American cashier was very rude and obnoxious. I have seen numerous reviews about her at this location and still don't understand why she retains her job. I was able to returned my items because they were new and unworn, but the service was absolutely terrible. I can honestly say this was the worst experience I've had in my life so far.

I have been shopping at express for years. I’d say last few times, it has been my worst experience ever at this store. And that is not due to the store itself or the merchandise. It is due to the rude and unprofessional store manager. She is not helpful and very disrespectful to the customers. I was standing in purchase line, and she was very rude to the lady in front of me. Then my turn came, it was the same obnoxious behavior. The store never has my size so I have been shopping online for years. I always order two sizes and return the ones that don’t fit. She literally accused me of wearing the pants and then returning it. I politely told her, you can see I ordered two sizes, I kept one size, and this one doesn’t fit and that’s why I am returning it. She continued to roll her eyes at me. I thought perhaps she was having a bad day, but she had the same unprofessional attitude when I went back few months later. And that’s why I decided to write this review. And by reading all these reviews, it’s understandable that it’s a repetitive behavior. I hope the corporate is looking into this.

I often shop at Express, both in-store and online, for myself and my family. On a Saturday afternoon, I visited this store to purchase a semi-formal long-sleeve shirt. Upon arriving, I started browsing for what I needed. I noticed the store manager, but she didn’t offer assistance, which I initially understood, thinking she might be busy.
As I continued searching, I found a couple of of shirts I liked, but none were in my size. Again, the manager saw me but didn’t engage. At one point, I tried reaching for a shirt on an upper shelf, and still, there was no offer to help while she was close to me. This made me realize I was in the wrong store.
I don’t believe this was due to any racial bias, as the manager was African American, so I ruled that out. However, after reading other reviews, it seems like this lack of customer service is a recurring issue at this location. I’d advise higher management or the franchise owner to ensure staff are more attentive to customers.
In the end, I went to another store within Fair Oaks Mall and easily found what I needed. I gave 2 stars because, despite the poor service, the store was clean and well-organized, especially considering it was a busy Saturday afternoon. The cleanliness is the only reason for this rating.

The manger that worked today around 6:30 pm, African American/ two-tone colored curly hair had absolutely not managerial/customer service skills. She was the first person I made contact with when I entered the store. Never greeted me, even though she made eye contact with me. She was more concerned about putting clothes up in different sections of the store. At one point, I asked her to remove jacket from mannequin and stood next to her while removing. Instead of her handing the jacket to me she left me standing and walked all the way to the register and placed it on the counter because she initially suggested that I walk towards the register and wait for her. Since I refused to walk to the register she felt the need to be petty and take the jacket to the register. . I also observed her being rude to other customers as well. My customer service experience was escalated. This is definitely not the job for her. I won’t be returning. I felt extremely uncomfortable.

Had one of my worst experience in one of my favorite clothing shop. Purchased a suit for a special occasion and as always they forgot the security tag on it so I couldn’t wear it and when I brought it back to return it they behaved very unprofessional and said the tags or not on the items. How am I supposed to wear something if I don’t remove the tags (When I removed the tags that’s when I realized the security tag is still on it). Then I read their return policy and there was nothing such as tags should be on the items. I called the customer services and they called the Tall Black light skin lady and then she changed her statement saying that the item is worn. I totally understand where she came from but I told her everything is new. After reaching out to their supervisor and everything they said the tag should be on the item and I was like there’s nothing such as that and then they were like ohh sorry the item is worn. At this point I understood nobody’s gonna be able to help me. Never shopping there anymore!!

Super rude attitude and disrespectful behavior from the person that checked me out today (06/01/2024). I assume she is the manager at this store.Terrible customer service for a retail business. Express you can do better in terms of hiring because such behavior is unacceptable.Never ever going back to this store again.I love shopping at express but due to today's experience, I do not think I will ever shop at express store.

Made a purchase a couple days ago they forgot to take off the security tags off one of the shirts I came back to get it removed and they acted like it was my fault, light skin African American female was very disrespectful acting like I stole the shirt. It’s 2024 and she thinks I’m coming back to a store I stole a shirt from. Definitely never going to shop there again.

I was trying to return items. The system was down and the staff said they couldn’t process the return. I asked them if we could find some other way to help me. I was ok if they do it manually and credit my account later. I don’t have other time to come back. I asked for manager’s contact. They refused to give it to me. The person who helped me introduced herself as M. I doubt this is the name. But this is what I was told. Others were also rude. They were like what do you want? We can’t do nothing. No name tags. So I can’t tell the names.I hope some managers are checking this and probably find the way to help me with the return, for example sending me prepaid shipping label, so that I just dropped everything off at UPS.
