This studio is looking for new space in Fairfax...it will be worth the wait. In the meantime, do a class on zoom or in Arlington. This yoga studio, wherever you access it, has a wonderful vibe. Teachers are challenging and nurturing to the whole you! They give great verbal cues during class as well as lots of cool ideas to take with you throughout your day. I've had the benefit of taking classes @ Sun&Moon for 8 years. It's a community that is open and welcoming to all. See you on the mat!

I was referred to this yoga studio from a friend. My first ever yoga class here I had Tiffany as my instructor. Tiffany was great with verbal cues and guiding me through all the stretches and poses. All the staff did an amazing job following all covid 19 precautions. I felt very safe taking my first class here! I will definitely be back here for another class!

Staff is excellent, studio warm and inviting...I’ve been practicing here for well over 10 years, and every time it’s like “coming home”. This is truly my happy place, where I feel calm, welcome and at peace.

This was my home studio when I lived in VA. AMAZING teachers, and workshops with nationally known yoga teachers. The vibe is wonderful and the studios warm and welcoming.

I attended a weekend long workshop here. The studio is warm and inviting, as was the owner and the people working there. Great space and class offerings. I wish I lived closer!

I really like that this studio has an adaptive class. When you include people of ALL abilities that is encouraging true diversity. There are few other studios in the area that work to include all members of the community like these folks do. Thumbs up!

This yoga studio is very clean and has a great community of folks who attend. However personally this isn't the type of yoga studio I am looking for only because the classes they offer are typically Hatha Yoga which is a little more slow paced. I like vinyasa yoga so coming to a hatha class was very different and difficult in the sense that the poses weren't fluid and flowing from one to the other (ie- not relaxing for me). Maybe it was the instructor? Who knows but I'm not too keen on coming back to try another session. Also the studios have carpet which isn't a big deal breaker but I do prefer studios with hardwood floors and the rooms get very little sunlight. So not sure if that's the vibe and energy they are going for!

Lots of variety in classes and instructors. Friendly, calming environment. I don't have a favorite so I chose the flex pass.

Wow. This is a great studio. And the main classroom is one of the largest I've been in. The energy here is really nice, and it has a holistic feel. Not corporate and fitness like; or like visiting an ashram and taking classes in a fog of incense. It has a really nice balance. They also offer massage. And they have a ton of yoga books for sale. The first class here is free. I definitely recommend you take advantage of it. For my free class, I took Chinese Yoga with Cynthia, which is a really interesting blend of Tai chi, Qi Gong, tradational Chinese medicine theory, and sound meditation. It was one of the best yoga classes I've taken in the last year, and I'll be back to attend more, once the instructor comes back from some advanced training in China. This is one of the few classes I've taken I didn't need my yoga mat for. And that's a good thing. If you are tired of walking your downward dog, and want to try something different... definitely check this class out. If only to experience the huge crystal singing bowl (which I could sit in). I felt it in my bones! The second class I took was Yoga Level 1, with Deb. She is an excellent teacher, and has superb vocal cuing. Also, she doesn't just have you get props if you need them--a lot of her teaching incorporates them. Which is a nice change of pace. This isn't a hard core vinyasa flow that leaves you sweating at the end. But it isn't supposed to be. I've been to far too many yoga studios that seem to think that streaching in yoga is less important than a workout. It is nice to find that mindful streaching still has a place in some studios. During this class, Deb focused on hamstrings and hips, and by the time we came to shavasana, I was amazed at how much farther I could reach in my forward fold, and also how much more relaxed my hamstrings were. She is also really good at guiding you through meditation. Two thumbs up!

This place is such a hidden Gem. Had the pleasure of working with Sun and Moon with their Work Exchange program which essentially allows you to donate your time in exchange for yoga classes. The Yoga community here is incredibly warm. If you're looking for power yoga this isn't for you, but they work on technique and work with you through the movements of mind and body.
