“The framing here is extraordinary. Paul, the owner, knows exactly how to highlight the work of art in an enclosure that is elegant and is perfectly matched to the object it holds. Last week, he framed a delicate painting on paper for me. It's a painting of the Indian spiritual master Meher Baba by the Swiss artist Helen Dahm, painted in India in 1938. I had planned to use an ivory mat, but Paul showed me that it would call to much attention to itself, and that a black mat with a thin gold bezel would better focus the eye on the image itself. The wooden frame is perfect. The finished product is more beautiful than I could have imagined. Paul is an artist in how he frames art.”

“We had a small morning wedding ceremony in the garden with about 35 guests and a violinist, and it felt incredibly intimate and special. We held our reception elsewhere later that evening for a larger group, so this setting gave us exactly the quiet, meaningful atmosphere we were hoping for. In early May, everything was in bloom, and the garden was beautiful.
Richard, Veronica, and the team were wonderful throughout the process...kind, accommodating, and genuinely thoughtful. The day before our ceremony, unexpected roadwork started right outside the venue blocking all the streets leading up to it. They proactively contacted the city themselves to help reassure us and prepare the backup plan if needed. Luckily, we didn't need that backup plan but that level of care meant a lot.
We also loved that there was a built-in indoor option with the art gallery space, which gave us peace of mind. They provided chairs and tables as part of the rental. We decided to keep things simple with the black fold-up chairs they offered, everything worked perfectly for our short ceremony. They also gave us the option to bring champagne and spend time toasting with our guests afterward, which created a really nice moment to have more 1:1 time with everyone.
Overall, we had such a lovely experience and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, whimsical, and intimate setting for a wedding or special event.

“The center promotes local artists. It's in Adams Morgan area of Washington, DC. It holds events from time to time when local artists can exhibit their artwork at the center. Finding parking near here is a little tough so perhaps used from public transportation to get there.”

“Saw a display about the Craft Gallery at the local library and went to check it out with my little one to see if we could find a mother's day present and also a birthday present for my niece. I much prefer finding fun and artsy gifts and especially supporting local artists when buying presents. The staff person who greeted us was very friendly and helpful as we explored the different items. There is lots of variety and things are decently priced as well! We found two perfect little gifts for under $20 each that my mom and niece loved. We will l be going back when we need a unique gift for others in the future!”

The photo looks stunning against the gold wood color and is easy to see without too much reflection. I had a chance to enjoy the studios and chat with an artist before leaving.
