“My husband and I came to Rubini for both my engagement ring and our wedding bands, and the entire experience was incredibly special from start to finish. We decided to design the engagement ring together, which I was hesitant to do but it turned out to be such a unique and meaningful process. I'm so happy we did.
We worked with Joanna, who was so calm and guided us through every step with care and patience. Since we had never designed a ring before, we had no idea where to begin. She showed us different styles, walked us through design books, helped narrow down my preferences, and even sketched ideas by hand as we talked through what we envisioned. From there, she created a CAD rendering of the ring so I could review and finalize before officially stepping out of the engagement ring process.
By the time we came back for our wedding bands, we felt much more comfortable with the process, and Joanna once again made everything easy and enjoyable.
What could have been an overwhelming process became such an intimate and unforgettable experience; one that’s now a meaningful part of our story together. Thank you again to Rubini and Joanna. We’re looking forward to coming back for future jewelry needs.”

“Incredibly unique shop. The owner is super kind, and I promise you’ll find some of the most unique items ever. There’s a wide array of sculptures, statues, and masks from all over Africa. They offer everything from baskets, picture, jewelry, pottery, and even rugs. I could have spent hours there and there would still be more to look at. There’s items (and cats!) everywhere, and that’s honestly just part of the charm.
Heads up: because there are cats wandering the shop, if you’re allergic, please take precautions. Also, the shop only accepts payment via services like Zelle, so just be aware of that. Lastly, you have got to check out the second floor.
Overall, I can’t recommend visiting enough, the owner is incredibly kind and has been there for 37 years. Please support your local businesses!”
“We came here for my wife's birthday to buy her a full yukata. We had been there 4 years prior purchasing some small earthwares that were gorgeous. Everything inside was so beautiful and you can tell the craftsman and store owner took pride in their art. She was also amazing with my wife helping her pick out the perfect yukata showcasing the perfect customer service you see in Japan. We HIGHLY recommend Tokiya Japan and are loyal customers.”

They clearly mark on the tags when an item will go on sale and exactly how much the discount will be, which makes shopping so much more transparent and fun.
The selection is genuinely impressive, and you can find a lot of beautiful pieces from luxury brands at very reasonable prices. I’ve found so many great items recently. Most of the clothing is in excellent condition and often looks basically brand new.
What impressed me the most is that they seem to add new inventory every single day. I visited three days in a row and still found completely different pieces every time.

I started off buying online on their Instagram and have been amazed at the high quality, name brand items that I can get for a great price, plus love the environmental impact of buying secondhand. The owner, Megan Podolsky only accepts the best stuff, so the shoes and clothes you purchase at her store are in pristine quality and recent styles. As a #boymom and experienced corporate retail veteran, Megan knows how the market for boys' clothes is often overlooked and her carefully curated selection from top consignors with style allows me to keep my boys dressed in the brands like Burberry, Boden, Tea, Vineyard Vines, Hunter, Native and Sperry. I love the selection of dress shoes, winter boots, and water shoes. This store also has cute new items that I often buy for kids' birthday parties, holiday gifts or baby gifts. When I was pregnant and nursing, this was the place to get a professional work wardrobe that was functional and comfortable, but also stylish. Not only does the owner know her customers by name, but she is the best at recommending other small, local businesses and supporting other entrepreneurs. It's no easy feat managing multiple small businesses in a pandemic and tough economy. Definitely recommend following on Instagram--they can ship to you or hold for pickup pending payment.”

“I popped in this cute little shop over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the vast selection of vintage pieces. I fell in love with a Japanese robe and the ladies were extremely helpful, even when I said I would return at a later date to buy it. But I just could not leave it there. I rushed back to make the purchase, and the ladies informed me that they were running a sale on florals. SOLD!! “The clothing in this store is actually in very good condition, and it’s probably the most affordable consignment shop in the area. The pricing feels extremely reasonable — honestly sometimes even lower than you’d expect for the brands and quality.
I found an amazing pair of genuine leather Prada shoes here for only $160, as well as a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes for around $200. If you take your time digging through the inventory, you can definitely come across some really great luxury brand finds.
That said, I’d especially recommend checking out their shoe section — in my opinion, that’s where the store really stands out.”

“This is a great place to get high quality, gently used kids' clothing! This place has been around a long time, although they did move from one unit in the shopping center to a new one in the past fife years or so. They do a great job of being selective about what they carry and pricing it appropriately. They have tons of my favorites including Hanna Anderson, Gap, Crew Cuts, Patagonia, and more. They have lots of great kids shoes as well--things that would normally be pricier, like Keen, Sperry, etc. I have not consigned with them although I probably should. One thing I really love is that they promote their items on Instagram (handle 529hollinhall) and you can even reserve and pay for items there. They are very active on there AP you can find what you want without having to do much browsing.”

What A GEM this store is.
First of all, the management and the team here are top notch. Items are beautifully presented and neat and regularly re organized. Every customer is helped regularly you never feel like you have to look for assistance.
The selection here is great. Tons of nice shoes, high qualify brands but also lower cost items that are still really cute.
The store big and spacious with lots of light. Browsing is easy. Trying on clothes is comfortable.
The associates are all SO friendly! Genuinely warm. I both sold and bought items today. Every tiny interaction with all 3 of the store associates was pleasant. The fitting room was all set up and organized so cute. They seemed happy to accept my items for sale and excited about the things they found.
When checking out, another really pleasant exchange.
The culture of the store makes you want to come back. ✅

“Not sure I understand the low reviews! This store is fabulous and the owner cares deeply about high quality and authentic pieces, so you’re getting what you pay for. It says consignment, not thrift, so not sure why folks would think it would be cheap? It’s designer goods for great prices. Also, the owner is clear that if your items don’t sell within 3 months, you either can pick them up or she’ll eventually donate to keep things in rotation. Just make sure to read the forms. You actually get a really good % of the sale, compared to other spots! Anywho, would recommend if you’re in the DMV!”
