Like everywhere else, self checkout is the norm and the scales are super sensitive because of all the garbage people who steal. This makes checking out a royal pain and the staff suffers because they have to run from register to register clearing the “help is on the way message”. “I can’t say enough good things about theWalmart Pharmacy at 11 Village Parkway, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. They have been handling my prescriptions for the last 13 years. For all of that time, my prescriptions have been filled correctly and quickly, and now they can even be delivered with a Walmart grocery order. On many occasions, I’ve had to consult with the Pharmacist about a new medication that I had filled and he has always explained how to use it and what to expect. He is incredibly knowledgeable about prescription medication‘s and also over-the-counter drugs, their uses and possible interactions.The Pharmacy Technicians are always so friendly and helpful. I couldn’t be more pleased with the overall excellent service at this facility.”

Other pharmacies in the area were rude and unhelpful, and the staff at Costco REALLY stepped up and were relentlessly kind and helpful (specifically Kasey and one other lady who I AM SO SORRY, but I did not catch her name! I will update this when I find out.). I have made the switch for all prescription needs in the future. “I have been using this pharmacy for many years. They are one of the busiest pharmacies in the area. I have seen the employees threatened, cursed at, yelled at, and generally treated poorly by the public. I was even present when the police had to be called because there was an irate customer in the drive thru lane who refused to move her car when told her prescription wasn’t ready at that time. Do they make mistakes? Of course. But having worked in healthcare, there is so much that goes on behind the scenes that we don’t know about. These folks have to deal with unresponsive doctors, battle insurance companies, and deal with drug shortages, all things that may delay a prescription from being filled. I am always treated with respect and kindness. These folks do the best they can in sometimes very difficult circumstances. For all that they deal with on a daily basis, I think they do a great job. And doing so underpaid.”
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
