“Bob is amazing! He is patient, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable. I wanted to reset the diamond from my mother's wedding ring into a necklace. Bob spent over an hour with me showing me the various choices. I also went another day to discuss updating my own wedding rings. He again spent over an hour with me talking through various ways. “I had the pleasure of purchasing my Longines Spirit Zulu Time at Crown Jewelers. They responded to my online inquiry almost immediately. I spoke with Justin via phone and after a few minutes we came to a mutual agreement. My watch was ordered and while waiting Justin kept me informed and updated along the way.When my watched arrived, I made the drive to their store. When I entered, I was warmly greeted by all of the staff. My watch was unboxed, presented and fitted with care and attentiveness by Justin. “I am so happy with the work I had done at Ulman’s! When my Nanna passed, I was gifted her wedding ring. Unfortunately, it didn’t fit, and wasn’t a ring that I could wear daily. Ulman’s helped me to create a custom piece out of it that I absolutely love! They really made sure that it was perfect, and even changed some things without an extra charge. “I have shopped and sold at many pawnshops around Fred, and this one is my favorite. They have a crazy selection, and you actually feel seen when you walk in. Too many shops you walk in, grab something and get ignored for 10 minutes while trying to check out, not here. Fast, easy and not filled with political garbage like some of the others.”

“As a kid, I despised antique [*insert plural noun*]. Cloisonné, Hummels, Gerber, anything made of wood that I couldn’t climb on, and {Heaven help me!} rows and rows and rows of the same silver, china, glass place settings… all across Our Great Country America ??. — Yup! Summer road trips in an unairconditioned overheated station wagon coulda been awesomely wonderful, were it not for Aunt Ruth & mom doing all that antiquing! ? (And don’t get me started on that bucket of fried chicken bought in New Orleans which she held in her lap all the way back to Central Illinois!) ?
45+ years later? Ah! Different story. Different world. Different “me”. I’m gonna say… nostalgic! Why stay home to binge videos? There’s a lot out there to see & explore & learn! — And our home inside the DC Beltway has scarce nostalgia, unfortunately!
