$4.00 for a piece of tape to be placed across a 18” package. That is unnecessary by anyone’s standards. $1.00 I can understand. Basically they are asking retail price for an entire roll of new tape.
There is no reason for this other than taking advantage of customers. Thankfully I didn’t need the label printed because that would have been an additional $3.50.
If you want to have return customers stop nickel and dimming them for basic services that USPS, FedEx, and other UPS Stores will do without even asking and free of charge.
I understand that you are a franchise and set your pricing but there is a difference between being fair and taking advantage of people that sometimes only have the option to use your store.
I am only one person and you can still survive without me as a customer but I promise you one thing. Every time I drive by your store I will remember my encounter and feel just a little disgusted each time I do. I will also remember to tell anyone that asks where to ship a package, about my experience in your store and how you take advantage of people.

I think the prerequisite to work here is that you must be completely indifferent to humans and have terrible customer service skills. I have never had even a simple return go smoothly. And make sure your box is taped extremely well (even if you think it is put more on) so you can avoid their $1 tape fee.

I drive by this UPS in Gainesville to droop of a box partially open and they want to charge $4 for a small piece of tape to finish seal my package, I usually go to Haymarket location and they never charge me for extra tape to close my package.

The staff here is very helpful and goes above and beyond they helped me with a large print order which I had no idea how to do. One lady there has also helped me with Amazon returns on numerous occasions. She explained to me the difference between customer packed and no box no label. It was frustrating and confusing until she explained it clearly for me! I will use this store in the future!

I recently visited the Gainesville UPS Store to return an Amazon package, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, largely due to the interaction I had with Jamie.
From the moment I walked in, Jamie's attitude was unwelcoming and unprofessional. He simply yelled "Next" without any form of greeting or acknowledgment, which is disappointing, especially for someone in customer service. I even took the initiative to greet him, but he didn't bother to return the courtesy. Instead, he bluntly asked, "What can I help you with?"
This was my first time returning an Amazon item at this location, and I had placed all the items in a box, leaving the top unsealed in case they needed to add any documentation inside the box before sealing it. He said, "Look right there, it says customer pack, and if we tape it for you, we will charge you," in a tone that made me feel like I was being scolded and the way he communicated this was condescending and rude.
I have no issue with paying for tape, but there's a way to communicate this information that is both professional and courteous. Jamie's approach lacked both. To make matters worse, when I asked for his name, he was reluctant to provide it, which only added to the negative experience.
This was a terrible first impression of your Gainesville location. I hope management takes this review seriously and provides Jamie with the necessary training to improve his customer service skills. A simple name tag would also be helpful to avoid the discomfort of having to ask for an employee’s name. If I could give this location zero stars, I would. In the past 6 month, approximately 6-8 customers left reviews highlighting rude and unprofessional employees. It seems this is standard practice at this location.

This franchise is one of the worst I've ever used. Long lines, and a few rude, indifferent employees, with little respect for the customer. Perhaps they are just overwhelmed but their reaction to customer needs indicates either indifference. poor training, or poor management standards. The branch in Dominion Valley is managed better and a much better option if you need UPS.
