“This is one of my favorite businesses in RVA! The owners are so nice and thoughtful. We have purchased many oddities from here and are always super satisfied with the quality. We recently had a snafu with one of our items, and they sent a replacement (as this happened to be an item where replacements were available.) They went above and beyond and sent a variety of options to ensure that we were satisfied with it! Businesses do not have to be thoughtful with their customer service, but you will find that here at RIP!”

“Great stop on my quest to complete my Ashland passport. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved poking around at the fun finds. Amazing deals on dinnerware sets. Loved the concrete planters outside at very reasonable prices. Great place to stop in and see what's new.”

“A nice size place, easy to move around, good selection and a mix of furniture, notions, and some cool remade and upgraded console stereo systems. The ONLY thing that was annoying had nothing to the shop. I guess it's next a craft brew place, and as I walked to the door the smell of urine was overpowering!! The store is grear, just know you might have to hold your breath going in.”

“I went to Benjamin French Lighting Reimagined and the owner was so nice and professional! He fixed my lamp that I love. It's like new again! I really appreciate that there is a place in Richmond that fixes all kinds of lamps! Great business!”

“I’m updating my previous review because I believe in giving credit where it’s due. After sharing my concerns about feeling dismissed during my initial visit, the team at Governor’s Antique Salvage responded thoughtfully and professionally. They listened, acknowledged the issue, and made it clear that they value every customer. That kind of accountability speaks volumes.
What truly impressed me was their willingness to learn and adjust. It’s not easy for a business to receive criticism, and it says a lot that they chose to respond with openness rather than defensiveness. That experience completely changed how I feel about supporting them.
Beyond that, the inventory at Governor’s Antique Salvage is absolutely incredible. From antique doorknobs and architectural woodwork to iron gates, mantels, revolving doors, vintage chairs, and one-of-a-kind statement pieces — the selection is extensive and beautifully curated. You could spend hours exploring and still discover something new.
It’s a unique and worthwhile business with an amazing collection, and I genuinely look forward to returning and purchasing pieces for my home. I appreciate their responsiveness and professionalism, and I’m happy to update my review accordingly.”

“Please do yourself a favor and go to Labelle for all your furniture needs. I bought a really old queen headboard from Facebook marketplace. I wanted to turn it into a traditional Indian style headboard in dark mahogany. See the photos of BEFORE and AFTER. I bought wood appliqués from Amazon to attach to the headboard for making it ornate. Although I had a vision, nobody was able to turn my vision into reality by agreeing to this custom project. Finally I went to Kathryn and Tammy in Labelle & Co, and they renovated the whole thing exactly how I wanted. Now it fully matches the color of my mahogany nightstands and the regal Indian decor of my bedroom. Thank you Labelle ??”

“Modern 804 is an experience of the Mid Century Modern Style …That is a way of life…..sleek with clean lines and tapered geometric forms…and rounded organic edges. That focused on Functionality with the art bringing chaos! When people come into the store I hear so many people saying “oh my mom had that or my Dad had that.. it brings back memories of their past life ! And because of that they search the store for the right table or credenza or painting that will embellish their home. To continue the movement in that Interior Design Style..But don’t forget the Vintage Clothing and Jewelry…WOW Modern 804 is a destination! Don’t miss it!”

It’s a pleasure to shop here.I check them out many times a week to see what great new items they got in.The workmanship of Billy the jeweler is terrific and he is very helpful to guide you on items you may be considering selling in the store. The whole staff is very friendly and accommodating. I consign here as well and enjoy great success selling my items.I highly recommend this store!”

“I just want to say that I will refer any and every one to Golden Goat Pawn Shop, especially the one on Chamberlayne Avenue. I have been a customer with them for years and hands down they have exceptional customer service and very knowledgeable and courteous with assistance. I have always found great items and service. Check them out, they have everything.”

“I would not call this an antique store whatsoever. I was disappointed in that regard. It was a lot of basic white b***h furniture and decorations. The place is HUGE and there are a TON of items to look at. I would go back for furniture for sure because a lot of it was pretty furniture for a decent price. However, I feel like they should advertise as an antique store because I don't feel that it is.”

“Cool place! The owner was friendly. I was looking for something specific so I didn’t get anything but next time I’m in the market for vintage toy trucks, planes or signs - definitely stopping here.”

“I've been shopping with Kim for 20+ years. She is absolutely the real deal when it comes to antiques. She sources directly from Europe and finds pieces filled with personality and character. And she truly has the best selection I've ever seen ... there's something for everyone, whether your style is classic or contemporary.”

“Small but mighty. I adore this shop! I love design, especially mixing old and new and Sheppard street is my favorite shop in Richmond. Quality treasures at reasonable prices. I just love this place!”

“My favorite antique mall in Richmond. Large, great selection. Prices sometimes run a bit high, but usually not much beyond market prices. Incredible selection of ephemera.”

“Well organized shop with great selection. The owner is knowledgeable about the pieces. The inventory almost overwhelms the space, which limits the number of larger pieces.”

“What a lovely little place for gifts and furniture. Very classy and a nice selection of high-end gifts. There’s a cafe inside but it was too busy to try, so it must be tasty.”

“Knowledgeable owner and a nice selection. I was asking about Lane MCM dressers and he knew that there weren’t many made in the style I liked, so they less frequently surface.”

“Janet Morris has an amazing eye for unique mid-century art and furniture. This is a massive space, so she’s able to offer large scale items here. Of course, there are items that will fit smaller scale contemporary / MCM homes too. The cantilever dining chairs, cubist chandelier, flame stitch sofa, and “Pucci” inspired chairs were just wow!”

“This antique store is massive! I love going to ones where they have individual booths for each sellers collection. There's something here for everyone, furniture, crystals, giant display dinosaurs, etc. you can get lost and spend hours in here looking at everything. Only downside is that most of the items in the booths are overpriced.”

“My husband and I LOVE this place. We go here almost every other weekend looking for fun things to add to our collections. He has gotten some nice, older game consoles and games, and "nerdy" figures, while I have taken home various things from Beanie Babies, to car models, to home decor. Absolutely check this place out if you need to kill a couple hours, or just like collecting fun things!”
