About Candlewood Suites Glen Allen - Short Pump by IHG
Candlewood Suites Glen Allen - Short Pump by IHG offers a comfortable and mostly pleasant stay for travelers. The hotel features clean and spacious rooms with amenities such as a small kitchen, including a stove top, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and dishes, making it convenient for extended stays. Many guests appreciate the quiet location, which helps ensure restful nights, and the friendly, professional staff, with special praise for front desk team members who provide flexible and helpful service. The property is pet-friendly and has useful facilities like free laundry, a small fitness center, and a patio for barbecuing, along with nearby stores and restaurants.
While some rooms are well-maintained, others show signs of wear, such as chipped walls and dim lighting, and bathrooms often lack enough counter space. Some guests have noted issues like noisy hallways, gaps around room doors that let in sound, and maintenance concerns like ceiling cracks, grout on floors, and a dodgy toilet. Ventilation can be a problem, making rooms feel stuffy and warm, especially with high CO2 levels. Despite these minor inconveniences, the overall experience remains positive, with many describing the hotel as a good value and a great place to stay, particularly for those traveling with pets or looking for a quiet location. The friendly staff and the amenities offered make Candlewood Suites a convenient choice for visitors to the Richmond area, with many guests expressing intentions to return.
It's fine for an overnight stay, but I would not recommend it for any longer. I stayed on the first floor, and it's in need of some renovation. Not recommended for a family.
