This is about my experience with the employer who installed my internet at Winston Townhouse. His attitude was unprofessional, he was the worst installer I’ve ever seen in my life. Cox needs to fire him right now if it wants to save its reputation…. The cox store in Hampton is awesome. The lady who helped me I think her name is April is very polite and knowledgeable please promote her.

For whatever reason Cox loves to dismiss the customers issue and gaslight them. I should've stayed with Verizon

Cox is absolutely junk. I am posting this from my mobile device as my internet is out again. Goes out on a regular basis. Estimated time to repair is 5 hours from now. I had Verizon at my old house and never experienced outages. I have the Cox Gigablast service and I have NEVER seen even close to that. Mostly around 600k. They have recently started offering FIOS. My other house has the ability to have cox Fios.. even though I will NEVER have it because they are trash as a service. But they do not offer it at my new house with no intentions in the forseable future to add it because there is no Verizon service here. They don't have to compete against another provider. So they don't care about the customer at any level. They have the ability to provide a better service but won't because they don't need to since this area doesn't have competition. And I am in Virginia Beach. Not some country side... their Fios Service is offered to a neighborhood 1 mile from mine.. but that neighborhood has Verizon too. I can't wait until Verizon comes to my neighborhood. I will write off COX completely.

By far the worst internet service I've ever owned. I pay for the GigaBlast service ($128.76 a month) and still have the most terrible internet I've ever had. I've called them several times and they continue to slow down my internet intentionally. Highly do not recommend this service to anyone.

I just moved out of Monticello at Town Center and had Cox for 2 years of service. Towards the end of September, I received an email from Cox stating that the modem equipment was now attached to the apartment unit and that I would not have to return the equipment. During my cancellation process, I had verified with the customer service rep that I did not need to return the modem. After turning in my key and leaving the apartment, I get hit with an equipment charge for not returning the equipment. I contacted both the apartment front desk and customer service for Cox and got two conflicting answers. The apartment had stated that they did have a contract with Cox for the home equipment unit. Cox however showed that the modem was not checked as a home equipment unit.Unfortunately, the apartment front desk has stated that they cannot find the modem unit. I am beyond frustrated through the whole process having been told one thing before moving out and now being told something else weeks after. The lack of communication astounds me.Find internet elsewhere.

My husband and I just moved out of town. The last email we have received from Cox was if there is anything we needed to send back to the store, we will receive an additional email stating what needed to be send back. We did not receive anything and we moved to a different state. After a while, we received a call stating we needed to pay for devices that we didn’t send back to the store so we called Cox back only to find out we had to be charged for the device that they did not ask for (did not send the email) otherwise it would affect our credits. We paid for it but this is not right. We would have sent it back with no issues in fact we have never used the device after we set up Cox wifi but the guy insisted for us to have it. We should not have been charged for it if we did not receive any emails regarding returning the device. If anyone is thinking of what internet service to go with, I highly recommend Verizon and of course never Cox again for their unprofessional and deceiving policy. We should not get charged if we were not informed of it. The last email we received from Cox said we will send you an additional email if we needed you to send any devices back to the store. And Cox has a record of all our emails.

I am definitely thinking of turning off my cox wi fi service. If something happens with your credit/debit card where they charge and it doesn't go through, they will charge you $50 for the denial of the card. What if your card is locked? What if the money is on there and a technical difficulty happens? This would mean I still have to pay 50 dollars. I'll be switching to something else very soon.

Set up autopay at this location and I was still charged a late fee when my autopay should’ve been set up already! Very unprofessional! Maybe Cox should actually train these employees that work for them rather than getting some bums from the street to work for them. This was unacceptable!

When you call or visit a Cox store about getting a phone/internet modem, make sure the modem you get is totally free, with no monthly charges. It is an FCC rule that if you have a Cox landline, you must get a phone/internet modem from Cox, but it should costs nothing and have no monthly fees attached. Don't let them tell you that you need to get the Panoramic modem/router and pay a monthly fee, due to it having a router attached. Tell them you want a modem only, such as the ARRIS TM3402, and don't need an attached router with monthly rental fees. FCC rules state they have to give you a totally free phone/internet modem to use for phone service.

Incompetent. Manager chastised other staff. Left and had to call over the phone because they messed things up so badly.
