Staying at the Element is something I opt to do when I'm in town for work. The hotel has always been a nice hotel but they lacked a few things such as a Happy Hour. Well I noticed they started a complementary Happy Hour...more like a social hour. It was pretty cool. The rooms were quiet and I was able to study for my exam, so thank you a ton. Where to start? Positives:The first floor/lobby looks nice and front desk staff is nice. Negatives: hotel rooms and the halls look tired, rundown, and not well cared for. Dirty! I think staff only collected the trash in the hall once in the mornings because I've never seen so much garbage pile up in a hotel. I only saw one cleaning person once during my whole stay, and it was the third morning of our stay. In addition, the pool was very still and looked like there was an oily film on it. I've never seen a pool look so dead. There was hair and lint all over the floor of the poolroom and the towel I grabbed had a pubic heart stuck to it. Breakfast was pathetic and there were flies all around the bagels.I do NOT recommend this place.

Friends, do NOT stay here. Plenty of other hotels in the area with more compassion and sympathy, and far more superior customer service.Checked in through the app the night we were due to arrive (thanks to a very delayed, long haul flight,) and had to head straight to work from the airport, so arrived the second day of our booking to head to our room that we'd already checked into-- y'all, they gave our room away and were SO rude about it! We had full intention to pay for both nights! "You could have told us by CALLING that you were still coming. We give rooms away at 3am." Tell me this, how do we call when 38,000ft up in the air on an international flight, somewhere over the Atlantic? We only had wifi, that's why we checked in via the app... They didn't want to hear it.My husband is a few nights away from being a Platinum Elite member, so this isn't our first rodeo staying at a Marriott hotel, or checking in via the app. I cannot comment on the room or hotel, purely on the check-in experience, or the lack of... If I could give 0 stars, I would. Our guest experience began with awful, and disrespectful customer service, welcomed by the stench of weed in the lobby, with front of house staff sitting on their phones with their feet up on the desk. What kind of hotel is this?? My husband was rudely told to find another hotel without even an offer for assistance to find another room in the local area. I will never, out of choice, ever come back here. I hope we're not charged for the 2 nights as our room was given away, but I'll be sure to let Bonvoy Customer Care and the area manager know about this abominable, horrific, and displeasing guest experience.

Good location, lots of parking and food options since it's in a little shopping center. The maps location was wrong though and it was raining when I arrived. I called the front desk to ask what street the main entrance was on and the girl that answered didn't know, so I had to walk around the shopping center in the rain until I found it. The rooms are nice are nice. I didn't get to try breakfast cuz I had to be out before they started. Service could use a little improvement, I had to get a new key at the front desk at 3pm and there was no one around. The manager at some point came out and instead of helping the 6 people would in line, he just said the front desk person will be out shortly. I waited there for 15-20 minutes before they eventually came back, very unacceptable!

We stayed in this hotel for Supernova Ska Festival 2023 and we were extremely pleased with everything. The room was spacious and the king bed very comfortable. The large TV worked well, and the kitchenette was amazing to have. We didn't use the microwave, but the mini fridge and the extra sink were invaluable. The shower was spacious with good temperature and pressure, and the linens were all spotless. We also enjoyed eating takeout food on the sofa while watching TV: for once we didn't have to dirty the sheets eating in bed. We even used the iron and ironing board (gotta look good for the fest) and found them to be clean and in good working order.In addition to the excellent physical aspects of our stay, this hotel went above and beyond with their service as well. Every employee we spoke to or dealt with in any way was wonderful, they were all very personable and helpful. The gentlemen who cooked us breakfast in the morning did a wonderful job. The breakfast food was so nice. It was a weight off our minds not to have to worry about getting breakfast before we went out for the day.All in all a very good experience; in fact, it might have been one of the nicest hotels in which I've ever stayed. We got a discounted rate through a collaboration between the hotel and the festival which allowed us to stay in a hotel that might otherwise have been beyond our means. I would absolutely consider staying here again, and I strongly recommend the Element to any traveler in need of accommodation.Rooms: Large, clean, and modern.Nearby activities: Located within Peninsula Town Center, a few blocks of walkable businesses and restaurants situated just off Mercury Boulevard. As such it is convenient to many of the local businesses, and about a 10-15 minute drive to Fort Monroe.Safety: I felt secure in our triple-locking room, as well as in the hotel common areas and in the surrounding area.Walkability: The Peninsula Town Center itself is walkable, but you will need a car to travel outside it.Food & drinks: The provided fresh-cooked hot breakfast was very good. It was an excellent perk to the stay. There is also a drink cooler in the lobby from which you can purchase drinks, but I didn't avail myself of this service. Curiously, we were unable to locate any vending machines within the hotel.Noteworthy details: There is an on-site laundry room for guests to do their laundry.

The customer service and professionalism at the Element is deeply lacking. I have stayed at this location several times for business due to it’s convenient location. It is nice facility, but the level of customer care has degraded to that of a roadside motel. It is surprising that this is a Marriott hotel.

I never got to stay and had to cancel my reservation after the clerk told me that they didn't take chime or cash app and that its policy. I asked how long has the policy been in place and asked was she joking because for the last two months I had been renting rooms at the elements using my chime account and had never heard or had any problems with anyone else about my room rentals. She stated that the policy had been in place well before then. It was so embarrassing and inconvenient because I had to find another room on short notice somewhere else. I will never recommend the elements to anyone. Solely based of of my last experience here at the front desk with that clerk that day. Completely embarrassing. I won't be coming back to this place and will let others know. Especially, if they plan to pay with chime or cash app.

Front desk service; AMAZING!!!!!Room; Gorgeous, they even have a kitchen area where you can cook. So for any one trying to save money on eating out bring the grocery you can cook inside your roomLocation; Located right in the middle of a shopping center with great places to shopPool; Was a no it was bubbly and had something white floating in it not sure if it was too much chlorine or what!!Other than the pool and the fact I had to wait hours to get new wash cloths and towels ( which is not a deal breaker) this place would have gotten 5 stars. The young guy that checks you in/out was so sweet and informative makes you feel welcomed!!!!

8/23/2023 - Update - It has now been almost two weeks since my billing issue, and while I received responses from a conflict center I emailed, still no one has called from the hotel after I left 3 messages. They are refusing to refund the extra money charged because the third party that I paid didn't send them all of the money...told me to take it up with the 3rd party. When I did that, they told the the 3rd party they didn't charge me again, even after I sent screen shots of both charges. Over $700 extra from my family's mouth that shouldn't have been charged, and they won't return it. Guess it's lawyer time.The staff of this hotel were very kind & friendly. The location of the hotel is in the middle of shops & entertainment places. The room was decent - the bedding could have been cleaner. We did have a gnat & small ant issue, but I figured that it was a seasonal issue, as sometimes happens. The breakfast was decent. My problem is, I booked the room thru different website & prepaid. When we checked into the hotel, my card was charged again. I have left several voicemail messages about our issue but have not heard back in over 24 hours. I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt & assuming that the person is out of the office. We will see how long it takes to get my double charge rectified. I would give my rating one more star if it wasn't for this issue.Rooms: The room had a small stovetop & microwave & fridge. Shower & water pressure is nice. The bedding could be cleaner.Nearby activities: There were entertainment places adjacent & across from the hotel. There is also a small playground in the center of the square.Walkability: Hotel is within walking distance of different stores / pharmacy.Food & drinks: Hotel is in the middle of a square with plenty of places around to eat.

Absolutely nice hotel, Gym and Pool on site. Staff super welcoming and friendly. DOG FRIENDLY HOTEL! BRING YOUR FURBALL.? Delicious Breakfast every morning with a yogurt bar....you have a chef preparing your choice of eggs. Turkey sausage, sausage patties, potatoes. Choice of bread, fresh fruit from Farmers Market. Towels and Linens very clean and fresh. Not to mention the location, right in the middle of the Hampton Peninsula Town center. Full with stores, restaurants and bars.Rooms: Rooms can be with kitchenette. Just ask.

This location is so amazing the parking was accessible for anyone. It’s free parking. There’s so much food around this hotel. This hotel is such in a great place.. Laila the front desk representative was so helpful and so accommodating she make sure my check in with smalls and I came in early from New Jersey and she made sure that my room was ready for me at 2 PM. The following day she helped me print out my tickets with no hesitation. This hotel is deathly courteous and super nice. I will deathly stay here again.

It’s Filthy, nothing works not even the workers with exceptions to Mrs. Belinda. The room had blood and feces on the carpet. They did not have clean towels. they over charge the Marriott Westin needs to disassociate their business with the element
