“Wow!! I wish I could give Golden Pond 10 stars. We have been there for almost a year and are amazed by how our kids have grown under the curriculum. My son attended for 2 years and I cannot say enough good things. When I began searching for preschools for my almost-four-year-old, I looked at 36 preschools between Ashburn & Reston. Goddard of Ashburn was the ONLY one that had 0 violations on the State Dept of Social Services site. (For those that don't know, an up-turned rug corner behind a door is a violation.. having none is almost unheard of.)

Then the good things just kept going! From follow-ups, tours, hand-holding during registration (for me), making the transition easy (for my son), providing almost-live daily pictures and videos, providing healthy snacks, keeping us informed of changes, etc., the administrators are ALL amazing. There was some turnover in the admin office recently but the communication was sent out timely, pictures & bios included. By the end of the first week, they already knew every single child by name!
The Director of Operations has a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, so activities/etc are based on what is best for the kids, developmentally. The Goddard curriculum in general is great also, but having someone with that kind of expertise having a 1:1 conversation with the kids daily is actually amazzzzing.

My son's father & I are divorced, and the school stepped up in a big way for the well-being of my child. Between some seriously odd requests, making sure the appropriate parent is picking up, making sure my son has what he needs for 2 homes, etc., the teachers and administrators did a phenomenal job keeping both parents informed and staying focused on what is best for the child. ❤️

Even when I did have a concern, I found everyone to be friendly, attentive, responsive, and accommodating. When I asked why the Jr-KG class wasn't doing summer field trips over the summer, I received dates for field trips in less than a week! When my son fell and had a bloody nose, the school immediately called teachers (after hours) and followed up with me via messages and calls both in the evening & the following day.

The kids also love it. They have class pets (fish, guinea pigs, and even an axolotl), they do theme weeks, field trips, science projects, learn Mandarin (4yos sang a whole song in Mandarin at the Christmas recital!!), etc.
The teachers are amazing! One of them even proactively asked the administrators if she can add more activities for the summer based on the kids' behavior. This resulted in things like root beer floats, dirt pudding cups, volcano eruptions (with Harry Potter wands & glasses!), making slime, etc, music sing-a-longs, etc.

I would say the only downside was that the outdoor play area isn't covered, so the kids were cooped up in one classroom all day when it rained... HOWEVER the school is currently building a huge 2-story gymnasium on the property, and I believe it should be done by the end of the summer. ?

Overall, 10 out of 10.

“Great center! Our older daughter has been coming here for two years. The teachers are really kind, patient and experienced. The kid is clean, happy and has learned so much in terms of vocabulary, manners and songs. There is no better manager than Cheryl anyone can ask for. She is knowledgeable of everything baby/toddler/kid-related and full of creative ideas on how to navigate our daughter’s “terrible two”. Now our younger one is scheduled to join soon, too.”

“I enrolled my daughter (2 years old) in December 2024. I couldn’t be more grateful for the care and love the goddard staff gives my daughter! The school is so welcoming and I feel happy knowing my daughter is safe. My daughter has learned so much in just these 7 months she has been enrolled. Mr.Rama goes beyond to interact with families. Ms.Alicia and Ms. Dina are both amazing and my daughter is so happy when she sees them! I couldn’t ask for a better place to send my daughter.”

“My child has attended the Simon Center for over a year and it has been amazing for him developmentally. He loves his teachers and friends and I have seen him enjoy his experience so much. The center offers a variety of additional activities that also create a holistic experience. The staff is very consistent and we love still seeing his teachers from last year. Also, the center families tend to be very welcoming and there are lots of out of school gatherings where the kids get together.”

“I could go on and on about how much we loved Broadlands Kindercare! The director Melissa is truly one of the kindest, most caring people I have ever met. She’s always there to greet you and your child with a warm and welcoming smile! The entire teaching staff is excellent as well! They care for your child like they are their own and you never have to worry when leaving your kids with them. They provide so many updates and pictures in the app so you get such a detailed description of their day. HUGE plus is the yummy and nutritious meals/snacks that are included in the tuition! We had an emergent situation come up and they were completely understanding and accommodating during a very stressful time in our family. We recently had to move out of state and I cried leaving on my sons last day because I was going to miss it so much! If you are looking for childcare, this is the place to go!”

“My kid has been going to Kiddie for more than 6 months now. He started when he was 2.5 yrs old. I have seen a lot of improvement and independence in his activities over this time. He has started to eat by himself, he can drink in open cup, he has become more vocal, he forms complete sentences to express himself and a lot more.They have the open classroom concept where parents can walk in anytime and spend time with the classroom. The rooms have half wall on the class entrance so children can see out and don't feel claustrophobic.I'm very thankful for Ms. Priti and Ms. Ishana for taking utmost care and complete responsibility of Rainbow Fish class. They are very caring and loving. They will always greet and hug children as soon as they enter, making them feel comfortable and home like. They come up with various unique activities to keep children involved. They just make every child feel very special.I loved their curriculum which involves singing, dancing, sensory activities, outdoor play, socializing, vocalizing etc. Thank you Ms. Yashoda for creating such a friendly environment. My kid loves going to Kiddie and I can leave him carefree all day :)”

In his last year we witnessed the tremendous growth in our son and all thanks to the dedication and professionalism of his guide Ms. Janani. I am so grateful to Ms Janani for making my son academically sound and being his best teacher. Ms Janani helped him grow socially and emotionally too. My son still miss the school.

Ms. Mojgan helped him to have strong foundation of Montessori skills like practical life, phonics, gross motor control etc.

There were some challenges at school like since my son joined there were 3 teachers changed for his class, I was not happy with so many changes.

New school head Ms. Kim is nice and taking extra efforts to make school more productive. I wish good luck to Guidepost Montessori Broadlands and all staff members.”

“Sending your child off to a daycare can be a daunting task. Wondering how your child will adapt to the new environment, and leaving your child with someone they do not know can be the most scariest part of it all. I immediately felt that my children were safe and cared for at this Kinder Care.I have three sons that began going to Kinder Care this past summer. The summer program offered an array of events for the children each week, that included field trips! The most loved snow cone truck was also there throughout the summer! While my older two settled right in, my younger son was having some issues settling in. The staff at Kinder Care continued to be patient with him and work with us even into his transition to before and after care at school.I can not thank Mr.Sam enough for his continued support and nurturing advocacy. He takes time to speak with my husband and I each time we come in. Making us feel as though our children mean more than just a number to the facility. Also, the amazing support staff needs a lot of praises as well! All of the staff have been diligent and caring!I would recommended this Kinder Care a thousand times over to any parent looking for childcare needs!”

“I would definitely recommend Grandma's Preschool and Daycare to anyone looking for a caring and educational home daycare experience. Both of our children attended for two years, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and support they received. I wish we had found them earlier when we were first exploring home daycare! It has been great working with their whole family and being able to see first hand the passion they have for their work.

When our oldest first started, his speech was behind for his age, and he was very shy around other children and adults. Within just a couple of months, we noticed a significant improvement in his speech, and over time, we saw him become more confident and comfortable socializing with his peers. One thing we really appreciated was that Ms Shelem conducts regular parent conferences where she shares age-appropriate developmental milestones and gives us the opportunity to voice any concerns. These conversations were incredibly helpful in understanding our child’s progress and how we could support him at home.

They’ve also gone above and beyond when extra support was needed. They helped us through a period where our son needed to wear an eye patch for two hours a day—something that could have been a nuisance or disruption to the routine, but they handled it with ease and care. Potty training was another area where we really appreciated their support and patience, especially since it’s been a longer process for us.

Another big plus for me is how involved I felt while they were there. Each year, they host events like a Thanksgiving lunch, trick-or-treating, Easter egg hunts, and graduation ceremonies where families are invited to join. I like being able to see how my kids interact with the other kids and teachers, and this offers a peek into their daily experience and interactions that we would normally not be privy to. Ms. Shelem also went above and beyond taking pictures on a daily basis and uploading them into a shared album. It's comforting to see what kinds of activities they work on and gives a chance to bring it up with the kids when they are home.

Lastly, I feel they’ve done a fantastic job preparing our children for kindergarten. They encourage independence in both self-care and early academics, helping our kids gain the confidence and skills they need for a smooth transition to school.

We are very grateful for everything this daycare has provided for our kids and are sad to be leaving!”
