About Pohick Bay Regional Park
Based on the reviews, Pohick Bay Regional Park in Lorton, Virginia offers a clean, well-run experience with camping, boating, swimming, and lots of activities for everyone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The campground is probably the nicest place to relax with the outdoors. Camping sites are spacious with full hook-ups, a picnic table, and fire pit. The site offered plenty of shade from the surrounding trees, and visitors enjoyed being immersed in nature with wildlife all around. The campground provides clean bathrooms, showers, a laundry facility, and a well-stocked camp store. There are plenty of outdoor activities within the park. The trails are very accessible, with easy parking and clean restrooms. The red loop trail is moderately challenging at just over 4 miles with around 240 ft elevation gain, providing a satisfying workout. The trail marking is one of the best within the zone. A nice experience camping in the Rustic cabin included a small refrigerator and a microwave, though the bedding was a bit hard with padding instead of a real mattress. Plenty of hiking trails with great views are available. The park also offers great fishing.
It seems like a beautiful park and the kayak rental process was easy. Unfortunately both sides of the bay have a lot of milfoil growing all along the shore, making paddling very slow until you get out into the open water.

Very spacious sites, quiet, lots to do nearby. Decent price for full hookups. We were here last year, and will return again in the future.

Great place to stay and safely, I spent two days there and my Mini-camper Van and was very excited about it. I coming back for sure no doubt and thanks to the people who work there.
