My oldest child is autistic and the staff at winwood have been great with my son and have helped him feel more comfortable and included in all activities inside and outside of the classroom. “My 4 year old son has been attending The Compass School for a little over a year. I was hesitant about transferring schools despite being unhappy with his last school. A lot of the parents from his previous school shared my concerns but told me I shouldn't expect too much from any daycare because the staff is never properly trained and administrative staff usually don't care but so much. I figured better the devil I know then the one I don't but after a series of ridiculous, avoidable and neglectful incidents I made the leap to The Compass School. This has been one of the best decision as a mother that I have made for my son and I wish I had known about this school years ago.To start, the Administrative staff CARE about the children and their families. Not the kind of care where they nod and smile at your request or say whatever it is you want to hear but genuinely care. I have never walked in without hearing a hello from them or left without hearing a goodbye. If my son misses a day at school due to an illness, I either receive a text/phone call from the staff checking on him.The teachers, my favorite part, are amazing. I've been blessed to have teachers who have entertained my crazy motherly request. They've been so observant and hands on that it often feels like I'm co-parenting with them and that is such a blessing. Everyday I receive pictures of how my son's day went and every week he brings home a journal that shares what they did during the week. The school is Reggio Emilia inspired which I love. They follow the interest of the children and expand it into an actual curriculum. So if the kids want to learn about dinosaurs they learn about dinosaurs while the teachers incorporate math, history, science and art. They also have annual reviews to let you know how your children are doing and they are very THOROUGH! I feel like I'm building a super human with their help.Throughout the year they have many events and they're during different parts of the day so if you can't attend one there is surely another one for you coming up. The events are breakfast, lunch, dinner, ice cream, pizza, book fairs etc I've met some awesome moms during these events. Meeting these other mothers have helped with play dates, parenting advice and so much more. There is also no guessing as to what their lunch is because they provide parents with a menu every month and if anything is changed you know before your child is eating it. BTW, there is a vegetarian option and I know first hand they work closely and diligently with parents whose children have allergies or are on a vegan diet. Also,I work in Public Safety so the fact that they are almost always open is extremely helpful.Overall, I would and have recommended this school to all of my family and friends looking for childcare. They're staff is so well trained that a lot of them babysit on the side to allow parents to take that date night. You shouldn't have to settle when it comes to the care of your children. I wish I had found this school sooner and that they continued on past Kindergarten but I'm very happy and not in a complacent way. My son told me to tell you he likes the school too.”

We see progress in their development DAILY and the teachers communicate with us very well. The registration was easy and straightforward. “We recently moved to the area and took our time in finding the right place for our daughter to attend school. We toured about 5 different schools and the Merit School of Manassas was the place we felt most comfortable with. This school has really friendly staff and I have witnessed the love they have towards the kids. My daughter constantly tells me that she’s happy here and that’s our biggest reassurance that this school is great. Not only do we enjoy how the teachers from different classes greet us with a genuine smile and make you feel welcome. But always the lesson plans and different activities prepared for the children.”

“Our son joined the Goddard family around 18 months old after a fairly abysmal experience at another daycare. From day 1 we knew Goddard was different. They cultivate an amazingly warm, inclusive, and welcoming environment and culture. The teachers are all top notch, educated, and clearly care deeply about the children. The staff and director/owner are awesome and when you talk to them you’ll feel like you’ve known them for years. Just a great learning environment overall that also allows the kids to be kids and thrive in their own personality and identity. “I can’t say enough good things about Hunters Woods Cooperative Preschool. The teachers are fantastic and really understand the age groups they work with. I’m amazed at the range of activities they plan for the students.I’ve also been very happy with the cooperative element of the preschool. It really becomes like your own little community. Parents are always willing to help with emergencies, taking care of each others kids,etc.I have two kids currently in the preschool and will send my third when he is eligible. I highly recommend this preschool to anyone who may be considering it for their child!”

“We’ve been at PrimRose in Aldie since mid 2021 and cannot say enough good things! Our child transitioned from a full time nanny to going to PrimRose full time at the age of 2 and it was the BEST decision. The environment is warm and friendly and the staff makes the effort to always greet parents and students by name! The school is very clean! The staff is extremely communicative and responsive throughout the day. The school app populates pictures and real-time updates of the activities that are being worked on. The Chef onsite and the teachers have always accommodated my picky eater. My child is doing amazing academically and all of the teachers thrive to get your child ready for elementary school. Big Kudos to the front office for scheduling numerous events, field trips, and treating each person with so much respect. Ms. Rizwana Khawaja (Director) ensures the environment is safe and sound in every aspect. Her experience and expertise makes this location stand out compared to the other schools within the community! We appreciate everything PrimRose of Aldie does in building an exceptional foundation for our child!”

“There are not enough words to express how much our family loves Guidepost Chantilly. We put our then 18 month old there last year. At the time he was barely saying a few words. Within weeks he was talking in short sentences, now we can’t get him to stop talking! The works they plan, and the entire Montessori way has grown my son by leaps and bounds beyond where his older brother was at the same age. I love that they reach real life skills, especially since I now have someone to help clean! :) Every single person from the administration down to the resource staff are all amazing. Our teacher and the toddler lead guide, Miss Maggie has not only been amazing with my son, but has helped me tremendously. As parents, there is no handbook. Maggie, having been trained and having years of experience with this age group has been willing to answer questions, provide me insight and resources, as well as guidance to help my son grow and me to parent him even better! I really just cannot say enough good things about this school! The support, teaching, love and care they provide is beyond measure! If you want your child to grow and learn in an environment that meets them where they’re at and truly takes your individual child’s needs into consideration then this is the place for you!”

“My son went to this Pre-School past 3 years. We had an amazing experience! They have a really good program for 2-year-olds, 3 and 4-year-old kids, and pre-kindergarten. And also the after-school program is really helpful for working parents. Science, Music, and Library in their specials for everyday programs. I do recommend Pender Hill Pre-School which is looking just for a half-day program (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM) and a stay-after-school program (1:00 PM - 3 PM) it's one of the best Pre-School!!”

“We've been with the La Petite Academy family for a few years now. I've watched my son grow through their program starting from Toddlers, Twos, and now into Preschool. La Petite Academy in general is a great daycare; but this location in Centreville really the best experience my family has had in a daycare setting.We transferred in from another LPA location. The director, David, made the transition SEAMLESS. We were welcomed warmly, and from day 1 it has been nothing less than exceptional.The all of the staff we have interacted with show genuine love and care for my son. One evening, they even called to make sure we were okay because they noticed we hadn't picked our son up by our usual time. The other daycares we attended haven't done that! I was really impressed. My son is always excited to see Mr. Brandon and Ms. Shamama - his two main teachers; but loves all the other staff he's been with too.The activities and curriculum are age-appropriate and STEAM based. The meals and snacks provided are healthy, too! My son comes home excited to share what they did that day. The staff also updates the app regularly with the days activities, meals, and photos!I can't recommend this La Petite location enough. David and his staff are absolutely amazing. The environment they've created is fun and safe; and my son is always happy to be there. I can't wait to watch my son grow even more with them.”

“We have been with RMS for six years because it IS a school that exceeds five stars.The classes are small so the students receive plenty of individual attention, but more importantly they learn the importance of working independently, as a part of a team and all together as part of a community.RMS also has a beautiful Atrium where the students experience the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.The students do activities that require them to step outside of their comfort zone as they host the Living Souls museum or put on children's operas such as Harlequin or Persephone.Community service is another area where the RMS students are active such as helping with the St Lucy project, sponsoring food drives and clothing drives.If you are looking for a school where your child will grow academically and spiritually you definitely want to be a part of RMS.”
