“This week has been one of the most difficult and when I visited last night right before closing to pick up two bags of gravel my poor judgement and placement of the bag resulted in a hole at check out. Raegan was EXTREMELY helpful and very Kind. His kindness really made everything a bit easier and he deserves to be recognized for going above and beyond despite being exhausted. Thank you, again.”
“I love this place! You can literally smell the clean, crisp air coming from the happy, healthy plants. I always end up spending more than I expected because there are too many good options. Also there is a cat that you can hug and love 10/10”
“Thank you CC Nursery. What a beautiful job Mike, Jorge, and Angel did landscaping our back yard. The design, the trees and shrubs along with superior workmanship are highly professional.
I recommend Cross Creek Nursery for all your landscaping needs”
“Super cute shop! The employee who helped my exasperated self was very very informative and helped me solve a huge issue with my wooden cross stitch frame. Much appreciated and will definitely be back for my next project ?”
“Beautiful shop to treat yourself to a few exotic tropicals, philodendron red, black and gold philodendron etc.
Or feast your eyes on a variety of mini to large orchids. There were some mini orchid colors I hadn't seen at other local stores, such as pale creamy yellow, chocolate, etc. 4 pack of annuals is around $3.99 (as of 6-8-24) great variety!
Many vines as well such as moonflower, rudbeckia (black eyed Susan vine), and clematis.
A few natives plants such as Mountain mint but majority of outdoor plants are non-native annuals. All their plants look super healthy too which is very impressive considering the volume of plants offered, everything looks extremely well cared for. To me, this is a Hallmark if a business that is invest in offering healthy plants to the public and tending to it's inventory. Also extremely supportive in yes. Of offering care advise and friendly. I am adding this local beauty to my saved favorites to visit in RVA when I get another itch to purchase more house plants. Many are outside so I'm curious to see how it transforms over the seasons. This would be a beautiful place to meet for a plant club or series of classes that provide the public with a resource to learn more about caring for tropicals and exotics (even orchids). A new gem, to find for me in the RVA area.”
“Fantastic selection of indoor and outdoor plants, and a wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. It's so easy to lose track of what you wanted, spend half an hour wandering around, and accidentally buy a handful of unexpected plants! Also, big big BIG shout out to Steve for his wealth of knowledge, for sharing his love of pieris, for taking the time to help me gather up everything I needed and get it all situated for a next-day pickup, and for just generally being a rockstar!”
“Not only did Pleasants have the obscure sized nut that Lowe's didn't carry, but John rethreaded it on my old bolt and only charged me the price of the nut, 85 cents! So kind. So helpful. Thank you!”
“Highly recommend for all your hardware needs. The customer service is excellent. When I go to other, bigger hardware stores I spend so much time trying to find someone who can answer a question. Not so here! They are friendly and knowledgeable!”
“I was in Home Depot today to buy and tool box and Daniel was the gentleman that helped me and my son...he went above and beyond for us and it was some of the best customer service we have ever had! He deserves a raise?”
“We were looking for an obscure light bulb. Dan The Man went out of his way to help us. He looked at other HD stock. We called Short Pump but although they indicated 12 in stock, none could be found. He then found stock across the river. We went there and purchased 3 packages! He went above and beyond.”
“I hate visiting the "big box" home stores like Home Depot and Lowe's. Don't get me wrong, they have great stuff. I just don't like the crowds and the parking. This is why I like to shop at Pleasants Hardware (I go to both the Midlothian and Powhatan locations). The aisles are easily marked so everything is easy to find, and if not, sales associates are always more than willing to help and give advice. What's really nice, the prices are low...no big overhead, no Tv commercials to pay for, no big buildings to cool or heat...and there is always plenty of parking right in front of their stores! I love the "Mom and Pop" store feel of Pleasants Hardware.”
