I forgot a bag of items on the carousel that contained 5 small items and someone else got it instead of turning in. The employee that tried to help me says he didn't find it and they won't replace my items because I went through the self checkout! This store employees stink! That's no way to treat a loyal customer and i can't believe they treat customers like that! I have been a dedicated loyal customer to Kroger for MANY years but that may be enough to make me shop elsewhere, very disappointed in the service from that store. Make sure you never forget anything there!

Average as grocery stores go.
Pros: big store, decent organic produce section, good wine and beer selections, pharmacy is great. Manager (Chris, I think) seems engaged. I often see him mulling around, helping out.
Cons: variety of items seem more limited than ever (i.e.Kroger brands muscling out other brand names), items often out of stock (organic creamer, grass fed milk. When I now see them, I usually get two, can anyone relate? (think Covid/toilet paper saga..), aisles so crowded (curbside shopping employees filling giant-sized carts), out of paper bags when I didn't bring enough of my own fabric bags, limited # of items and often on the top shelf out of reach (Knudsen lime juice) and I can't find an employee to help me retrieve it so I sometimes just climb the shelf myself to get it. Prices seem outrageously high, what used to be $150 trip is now $200+, I thought this was just a post-Covid thing for a while, but it looks like this is a permanent thing.

We bought Sierra Nevada Hazy IPA on 6/18 and when I had a can it a bad taste. I checked the date and it said 5/6/25. Beer normally has a shelf life after the due date but apparently not in this case. When we took it back but Kroger's wouldn't replace it since they stated Virginia does not allow it. So we got another case but there was no date on the outside but this 12 pack was dated 4/11/25 on the cans. So Kroger's can sell outdated products but won't replace them. Moral of the story, DON'T BUY BEER AT KROGERS and your dates! There have been other products that have been outdated that we bought but this was the worst one. We are disappointed. It's bad enough everything is more expensive but now we have to check the date on cheese, breads, munchies and this list goes on.

After working all day, needing to get groceries after I’ve worked all day, it was not enjoyable checking myself out, having to look up my own produce, stop in the middle of the checking out process to bag my groceries because the “bagging area was too full” and then wait for the only person in the entire area to check my ID for a 6 pack of hard lemonade. I will never shop there again.

Worst grocery ever!! Every single time the milk area is bare - doesn’t matter what day or time - I just go in the back and get what I need myself now because it’s all back there!! Deli - those women must have a secret tally of how many customers are waiting while they do everything but wait on customers - running 50/50 on produce empty - we all get it’s hard to get people hired these days - but this store is terrible!! No wonder Food Lion is always packed. At least they have what you need on the shelves

Our daughter came into the area on 5/31/25 for a few weeks. On June 1st, she went to Kroger to get a few things... one of them tofu - Kroger brand (not my favorite stuff but she likes it).
It usually lasts a long time and when she went to use it the other day, she noticed the expiration date was 5/2. In other words, it had expired almost a month before she pulled it off their shelf.
She took it back to Kroger for refund or store credit, but they said they wouldn't without a receipt and besides how did they know it was bought there!
Umm... Kroger brand tofu being returned to Kroger....

I came in and I saw one of my friends working so I spoke to them for not even a minute and this manager manifests behind me and asks if he can help me find something. I said I was looking for yogurt and treated me like I was stupid and was being super unprofessional and rude, I like the place but I will not stand for being treated like im stupid

Good selection, but no staff. One aisle open. They push you to do self checkout but no one to check your ID, fix problems. The poor lady doing it today yelled out “I’m only one person”. I don’t want to check my own groceries. I had so many they had to keep coming to restart the belt. However, I still beat the person that was 4th in the only line they had. I would have been 5th. Come on Westlake Kroger- get your act together.

Do you love CHEEESE?! This is by far the best place to get cheese locally. The store is usually well stocked and busy!

Most of the time this store is great but sometimes I wonder why I dont take the extra time and drive to Food Lion. 1st no carts then shelves are pretty bare. The worst was checking out with hardly any plastic bags available. I asked the girl at self checkout if she could get some and she just said I would but were out. No sorry for the inconvienence or I dont know where your going to put your groceries! She did provide some paper bags but it took me twice as long to try to find bags and then try to use what was left which were not attached. The one guy that took over is always on the rude side in self checkout. I know his name but would rather not put it in this review. It would be nice to see more smiles and offers of help as that is what I get at FL with lower prices.

Typical visit includes blocked lsles, no cashiers & too many personal shoppers. Scan & go registers not working correctly & unhappy employees
Just not the same store it was 10 years ago
