The experience of staying at the wonderful Candlewood in Norfolk was very amazing. From the moment I walked into the building from the time I had to check out. The staff and the hospitality were great to me. In the near future I will consider staying here again.

I don't know if it was the stay itself or the fact that I was away from my husband and children, but I had a wonderful experience. The staff was really welcoming. Restaurant recommendations were made by Kelsey. Overall, I am quite impressed! Well done, guys! Your effort is truly remarkable. I would definitely stay again.

Very good hotel! Front desk staff are very accommodating and friendly The Assistant General Manager is friendly and generous. The staff were very nice for my one day stay.

Absolutely the worst ran hotel Iv ever stayed in.. I book this spot in the past and wasn’t nearly this bad but this time . Stood at front desk for 20 minutes while front desk employees gossip about other guest right in front of me before even being greeted. The area is scum trash!! my truck was broken into and last night broke out back window and stole all kinds of work related and personal belongings. WARNING IF YOU STAY AT THIS TRADH HOTEL YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE . Pic is of my back door window on the ground BTW i left it there for them to clean up

This was by far one of the worst hotels that I have ever booked. I arrived at Norfolk Airport on a late flight and there were no rental cars until the morning so I booked a room with my IHG rewards points. Upon my arrival I realized that this property was not what I've grown to expect from the IHG brand. I have retained Diamond member status for the last couple of years and I am a loyal patron. However, this property from the moment I walked in appeared unkempt and subpar. I continued through the check-in process despite my reservations simply because I only had a few hours to rest before getting my rental the next morning. I got my key card and went up to my room. The lobby, elevator, and hallway smelled like tobacco and marijuana. I started to realize that this particular property was more of a "trap" or "hood" hotel. I arrived at my room and there were markings as if it had been beaten with a pipe or hammer. The door was already unlocked. I gently pushed it open only to find that someone was already living in there. I mean that literally. They had not been there for 1 night. They had accumulated groceries trash and all types of filth. I went straight down to the desk and told them to refund my points. The front desk worker was cordial, she didn't even protest. She knew I was pissed and this place was treacherous. Fortunately I walked a couple blocks to Holiday Inn Express across the street and was able to check-in with a much better experience. I have posted a screenshot of my points redeemed from that stay. I contacted IHG and made a complaint as well. No compensationRooms: Horrible, filthy, unsafe.Safety: This place is not safe by any means. It is a crime haven. Please do not book this hotel if you value safety for yourself or loved ones

BEWARE: Though hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating, the smell a marijuana poured through the vents into our room constantly. The kennel across the street provided a soundtrack of barking dogs morning, noon and all thru the night. The beds were clean and comfortable but the bathroom was stained, dirty and had poorly patched up walls. Overall, the hotel smelled stuffy, mildewy, damp and smokey. Couldnt stay more than one night, had to move my children to a different hotel.

Lots of good changes since the last time I was here. New manager is very nice and helpful getting things taken care of. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Wish there was a breakfast.

I came in to get a room at 12pm I work 3rd Shift and try to get in a room early if possible, the desk clerk gave me a huge attitude for just asking to get in early it's not like my company doesn't pay for early rooms and she told me you can come back at 2 very hostile she gave no kind of understanding or customer service it was completely attitude. I decided to go to another hotel.

Rooms were clean but a little odd. I'm used to having a sofa and ottoman in the room and these rooms had extended table/desk. The bathroom had a nice soaking tub and the water was very hot. I was a little put off by there not having a continental breakfast, but the area is full (and I mean full) of places to eat. The area is perfect for shopping and eating, probably since it's so close to the airport.

Horrible stay both rooms where nasty microwave was disgusting! 2nd room I moved to was with out a remote !
