Naval Station Norfolk Commissary is the best I've seen in 40 years. So many good employees! Kayland Gerland is doing a magnificent job! Barris, Judy and so many wonderful employees!

I want to thank the store manager and in general the personnel working here. I had a personal issue about a transaction I had made and they helped me and made me feel at ease. Not only great customer service but great human beings who really care about the service members and customers who shop here. Keep doing an awesome job here! You guys make it worthwhile and I really appreciate your help and assistance. Thank you.

This place has a great amount of food from all over the world. But the shopping experience for itself is not really enjoyable.Don't like coming here. Sometimes rude staff.

Why bother having an express 20 items or less lane when you allow rude customers that have carts full of items over 50.

The employees in the meat department needs to attend customer service classses. I asked one os the guys there for some ribs and he said its not cut yet and will take a while i asked how long and if 45 minutes is enough he said yes. Came back an hour i could not see ant employees or the meat i was asking for. A month ago same thing looking for some pork belly i asked one of the guys he saidvto come back in 15 to 30 min. After 45 min came back nobody was on site Buzzed them no answer. Came back again after 15 minutes saw the guy walking i think he went for a smoke break or something just gave up fustrated. On another occasion looking for beef bones or neck bones for soup same thing. TODAY asked one of the ladies working there for pig ears she said this is the beef area, pig is over there. I know that why wont they answer whats being asked? Its like when you asked them for something its like their combative and rude when they answer and its always with an attitude. I guess misery always loves company. Out of all the commissaries i have been this place is diplorable and i have been from west to east coast. This being the largest base of the navy in the whole world. The Boone and Portsmouth one looksceven better than this one. The way the carts are lined up when you get in is very unwelcoming you have to go around to get it. Its unlike any other retail or mercgandusing store. Some of the employees need to go to bysiness classes/ managerial..

I do about half my shopping here because half the stuff I can get cheaper at Walmart or sometimes Food Lion. However they are starting to get as bad as Walmart about not changing their shelf prices. I was just there and 3 things I bought rang up significantly higher than the shelf price, and yes the items were in the correct spot.

It’s a shame it’s the most affordable groceries in the area, because the issues with service, quality, & variety really make it a horrible experience. Their click-to-go service is awful. Most of the time half your order gets cancelled because they don’t have items. There’s no options for choosing substitutions online either, you just have to leave it up to them to decide what to substitute. It’s impossible planning dinner when things get poorly substituted & cancelled. Then have fun sitting outside for 30 minutes to 1 hour when you go to collect your click to go order because they take that long bringing your groceries. The manager says that’s rare, but we’ve had it happen multiple times. If you pay online, be prepared for an insane surcharge that may take a week to clear. You’ve the option to go inside & pay, but then you stand around for some time waiting for you groceries because they don’t understand how to scan the barcode for the order on a cellphone so you can pay & go back to your car to wait. So you end up waiting up front & when they finally bring your groceries by the time you pay the person meant to load them for you has wandered off. So you end up loading them into your car yourself. I wish I could say the experience inside the store was better, but their produce section is awful. We’ve never had produce go bad so quickly as items we’ve bought from commissary. Meanwhile, if you’re looking for organic & healthy options, be it in the produce section or throughout the store, good luck. Their selection compared to many other grocery stores in the area is seriously lacking. Just save yourself the trouble & grocery shop anywhere else. It’s not worth it.

This place has good prices however I will never even try to buy produce here again. 80-90% of the time my family has shopped here either I am not able to get what we need because the produce is visibly rotting/molded/infested with fruit flies or its like today where its crowded so we grab something in a hurry now in the middle of cooking dinner I realise one of us has to go to another store because we have waisted money (yet again) on something that looks like someone let it sit in their fridge to rot for a couple months. Nothing more frustrating than wasting time and money on something that has to go in the trash.

Came from Tucson, AZ and visiting family here. Was craving chips and salsa, went to the commissary and bought La Mexicana cantina salsa. Wow! I was impressed with this brand. It was good just like back home.
