Military Commissary, located at 1588 Mall Drive in Norfolk, VA, offers tremendous savings and great deals for service members and their families. Prices are very affordable, with a wide variety of everyday essentials and basics, similar to a ShopRite with its Big Win generic brands. While the selection may not be as gourmet or high-end as some might expect, the focus is on practical, budget-friendly options.
The store is clean, well-stocked, and the lines move quickly, though some customers have reported issues with overzealous self-checkout staff. The customer service manager, however, has been praised for their understanding and assistance in resolving any concerns.
Overall, the Military Commissary is a practical and cost-effective option for service members and their families, offering a solid selection of everyday necessities without the frills. The staff is generally commended for their friendly service, with one employee, Chris, being singled out for her exceptional interactions with children. While some customers have suggested the need for more open checkout lanes during busy times, the Commissary remains a valuable resource for the military community.
Great place to get all the things you need in a jiffy abd under one roof. Love the convenience and the savings!

It's a commissary. Staff were awesome here. First time in one at a Navy Base (just visiting). I was Air Force. Same awesomeness on the prices. We always try to plan trips near bases for many reasons. One is for the commissary. Can't beat the prices!

Love the prices. Forwarning, try to keep an eye on fresh produce like veggies and fruits. They keep spoiling a bit too quickly within the first week. Low-key bummed.
