The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Service of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.
I've gotten loans from here twice in the past and the experience has been absolutely wonderful. However, I just learned that they require appointments scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance.. regardless of emergency. Very great to know that the monthly donations I've done my entire career are going to great use.

I could never get in because they always close so early. I get out of work at 1600 usually so the availability is pretty bad.
