“We had a baby here and it was a good experience except for the lactation consultant. We wanted to breast and bottle feed because that is what we did for our other child and it worked out. She was relentless with her "evidence" of how we should only breast feed. She talked us into it. The day we were supposed to be discharged the pediatrician saw us and told us that our baby had lost too much weight and recommended that we supplement the feedings with formula. I was furious as that was what we tried to do. I explained this to him and he told me that he had the same problem when he had a baby. The part that makes me mad is that when we told the nurses that we wanted to use both the bottle and breast milk they would not give us the formula without the consult with the lactation lady who talked us out of it. For us it was a lesson learned that some of these people can only see one way. Other than that everyone was great and very caring.”
