It's a smaller location, so getting thru an afternoon rush takes a little longer than larger offices towards the middle of town. Just keep that in mind for planning!”

“This review is for passport services only. I visited the Lorton post office to apply for a passport. I arrived on time for my appointment, but the photo equipment was broken (which happens), so I had to go somewhere nearby to get my photos. That did not otherwise result in any delay in my application review and the solution was easy, so I didn't deduct any stars for that. It might be a problem for those trying to apply for a passport during walk-in hours, so I'd recommend coming with photos in hand just in case.
The postal worker was professional and patient and took great care to make sure the application and supporting documents were all present and correct. The worker clearly had had a lot of experience with the passport process and knew what to do to make sure the application made it through the State Department smoothly. I wouldn't hesitate to go to this location for passport assistance again.”
“I visited this post office today for a new passport, I was helped by Sunisa. 2 yrs ago she also assisted me with my kids passports. She is always so friendly and provides the best customer service. I really appreciate her making the process so easy and pleasant. Thank you Sunisa for all you do!”
“This is my favorite post office. Its small but the wait is usually next to nothing. The staff remembers you by name. Its clean, and the post master is very nice and on top of whats going on. They also adhere to the 2 people in the lobby at a time and masks are required.”

“Hard to find cause the sign is not like other offices usually have. there is no self-service machine inside. I was here once, the employee was not talkative and did not say hello or wish me a good day in return. It's quite cramped and a little bit dark inside.”
“No passport photos here! The employees were quick and helpful in processing our passport application, but we did have to go to CVS and get a photo to bring back.”

“I visited the Kingstowne post office yesterday, and I was overjoyed. The entire building was decorated for Christmas, which was a very surprising and delightful sigh after years of not being able to even acknowledge it.
My sales associate, Mr. Truong, has always been amazing. He has a sarcastic sense of humor I appreciate, and always try to educate you what did you do wrong ? and, that I can say whatever funny I want without him even batting an eye.
For the lady who had to deal with a rude customer, I am very sorry. I am also sorry for everyone who is lashing out at you. Remember that you never know what another human is going through, so it's important to be kind.
I did experience some negativity at this location before, but everything has improved lately, which is a great sign that things can change for the better.

“Excellent to so so service in this post office - depending on who is working. After going to this post office since 2023 I can say overall the service is mostly excellent. A few times it was disconcerting to see how dismissive, unprofessional , and cold the service was especially when it took a long time for someone to finally assist me when there were no lines, ringing the bell, and no one in the post office. I took one star off for the times that happened.”
“I made a Passport appointment and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes to include a picture and they do money orders on site. Everyone was very helpful and not on their phones or gossiping while customers were waiting. SORAYDA helped me with my passport and was an absolute all star. SORAYDA was knowledgeable and walked me through the entire process.”

“The service was fine, I like the self service kiosks, I wish all branches had them. My only complaints are that it's filthy, & the supplies need to be restocked in the lobby. The doors in particular look like they've never been cleaned. Standing in line for forms is a waste of everyone's time.”
“I don’t know why this office gets low ratings. The representatives are friendly and I often have thoughtful conversations with them. The lines move fast. I have brought in large and often times heavy boxes to mail and their attitudes are so not change while handling these boxes. I always choose 12 day ground and the boxes usually arrive earlier. Five-star Service.”
