Appomattox Riverside Park offers nice walks and trails along the canal and river. The area is very natural and pretty, with level paths and more adventurous trails. Activities include fishing, swimming, and hiking. Amenities include a playground, toilets, a picnic area with clean covered tables, and it is dog-friendly. A new bridge is present, though another bridge to access trails is closed, requiring use of the main road, which is not very handicap friendly. The park is usually clean, but some trash dumping occurs.
Nice park, but it desperately needs upkeep and some landscaping on some of the walking paths. I saw one that was completely impassable, especially with little kids, because the grass was so tall, you can't see the path. Otherwise, it's lovely.

Great park for hiking and walking your dogs. Fairly scenic with veiws of the appomattox river. Plenty of big rocks to walk out on. To get a better view. There is quite a bit of trash scattered throughout. Restroom building is boarded up. Great place once you get past those two issues.

Trail is good for bikes & hikes. A few areas for fishing, but the water is fast. Lots of picnic tables, but no grills. No bathrooms nor porta pottys.
