Pamplin Historical Park is a first-rate museum experience and a must-see for history buffs and families. It features world-class museums, excellent exhibits, and an engaging audio tour where visitors can follow a Civil War soldier's story. The beautiful grounds include walkways to impressive fortifications and antebellum homes. The staff is helpful and friendly, with excellent interpreters. While the museum architecture is a bit dated, the exhibits are extremely well done. It is a wonderful site for kids, well worth the trip, and highly recommended for a day visit.
