Absolute complete waste of time going to this location. I stood for forty minutes to send a priority piece of mail while the one employee behind the counter would assist others not in line. This location is a prime example of why the government should terminate the USPS, go to FedEdx or UPS.

If I could give this Post Office negative stars, I would.
This Post Office decided to mark that I rejected a package that was not attempted to be delivered to me (8/27/2025). After contacting the Post Office, I was told I could pick the package up in-person at the retail location. I showed up to pick the package up the next day (8/28/2025) and the worker stated he returned the package to the sender immediately.
I spent all day trying to get the package rerouted back to me through the 1-800 number, and I was repeatedly told it couldn't be rerouted to me.
8/29/2025 I find out they supposedly attempted to deliver my package to me again, but never did. I contact the 1-800 number again, and I'm told they redirected my package to a different Post Office. I go into that store, and they show me they never had the package, and state it's back at the Petersburg location. I immediately contact the Petersburg Post Office, and I'm told the package isn't there, but they'll check if it is. It's currently been an hour since I was told they would check if it's there and I haven't received a response.
The Post Office has stopped updating my tracking at this point, so there is no way for me to track this package at this point without verifying with a human where it's at.
This entire process has been the fault of the Post Office, including the 1-800 portion. The attitude from every worker I've come in contact with is that the Post Office does no wrong and I'm obviously at fault for their failure to deliver. Meanwhile, I've received packages from FedEx and UPS with no issues of any kind.
Please, for the love of God, 100% defund and eliminate the federal postal service. It's unbelievably inefficient and unable to do the simplest of tasks.

Good morning. Do not go to the post office on Franklin Street. My family and I had appointments this morning to start the process to get our kids their own passports. I made the appointments awhile back. One lady came out and said to the customers if your here for passports, we don’t do them on the weekends. My husband said we have appointments. She said they have been trying to get it taking down from the site. All the employees were not in uniform. Unprofessional. She was rude and doesn’t know how to speak to the customers. They should have called and let us know they can’t do it. No apologies from them. Just rudeness. We will never come back.

Don’t recommend going here for your passport. They are never accepting walk ins, and will cancel your appointment if you scheduled and they are short staffed. The waverly post office accepts walk ins and is worth the 30 minute drive for a hassle free service!!

I just want to call out an awful person at this post office. My family and I came into the post office today to finish up our passports. This was just a follow up as our last appointment was put on hold as we got some more paperwork straight no worries at all, and the women who helped us the first time was so lovely and sweet. This time we come and the same women explained to us that John would be helping us. After a little bit of waiting John calls and is instantly rude, just his demeanor was off putting as it we were bothering him with something. I am trying to explain the situation and my dad who is with me is trying to get all the correct paperwork. He instantly snatched the folder and starts pulling out all the paper, me and my dad just look at each other and say whatever. He is now looking through etc etc, he walks away to grab something from the back and my dad asks if he has his original copy of one of his paperwork and I notice on his keyboard he does so I grab the paperwork and hand it to my dad to look at. John then comes out from the back and notices the paperwork is missing and instantly goes into a fit about where the paperwork is and how we could delay our process and we mustn't touch anything. Mind you there is an office full of people, it was beyond rude, unprofessional and really lacked any sort of sympathy. I doubt anything will happen because but someone higher up really needs to speak with John about his work place behavior.

We had appointments for four people to apply for passports at this post office, but the experience was extremely disappointing. Despite having scheduled appointments, the staff clearly showed no willingness to help. They were unprofessional and seemed too lazy to assist us. It’s unacceptable for a government service to treat people this way, especially when we followed all the procedures. Would not recommend this location for passport services.

Joi spends more time in the back than up front helping people, it seems she purposefully didn't come out to help me and knew i was there. 2/20 @ aprox 1:25-1:30 p

Not a good with delivering packages package haven’t came yet supposed to have came on Friday they had all day Friday to deliver my package but decided to come around 7 pm saying can’t deliver at residential office because of it being closed (I live at my campus apartments) they close at 5 but this package been out for delivery since 9 am ! So the delivery end up getting delayed and they tried to do it next day same thing happened but they came earlier in the day around 12:53pm saying can’t deliver because of the business being closed which is crazy because it’s a residential office and they were open i absolutely did file a complaint!. Will definitely cancel my order if Amazon have my package being delivered by USPS!.

Despite all the negative comments i had a good experience. I went for my passport service i waited 15 minutes and a lady came and did everything smoothly. It was fast and smooth within 10 minutes she did everything.

They allow you to make Saturday appointments but then there’s no one on Saturday to make passports. Instead of them calling you to cancel or cancel the appointment for you, they let you believe that they have that available. Then few people show up Saturday and they redirect you to bon air who says closes at 9pm and that’s a lie.

I do not recieve my mail consistently and my package wasn't dropped off even though I was home. My gate is easily accessible and open to the public. The postal person lied and didn't deliver the package saying they didn't have access. I have a house I'm not in a gated community. If my neighbors and solicitors can easily knock on my door. Then the postal service should easily drop off my mail. She claims my yard is unsafe. Let me know in the comments if you think so... cause clearly it's not!
