This is a great playground for kids of varying ages! Lots of open area & swings that are safe for smaller toddlers too. There are slides for the different age groups too, big ones for the older kids & smaller ones for the toddlers. The bridge to follow the Nature Trail is closed now (Dec 2022), but the trail is great when open. The only thing to watch out for is the Virginia Creeper plant near the play area. Lots of people are very allergic. It is well-labeled though, as are other plants that have been labeled by our Goochland Powhatan Master Gardener Association.

A great place to do work and study! Not only is the building beautiful on the inside aesthetic wise, but they have a whole side of the building that is essentially a window wall, providing sunlight and a great scenic view of the woods. Their work tables have these super cool outlet/charging ports built into the middle which is incredibly convenient. The staff members are all super friendly, helpful, and non-judgmental when you ask for assistance with anything. Overall a great atmosphere! (:

I love our local library!The librarians have been kind and helpful when needed - in person and online. They have an option to pick up books by ordering them online if you want, but I am glad they are open again.The building is beautiful and the large windows take advantage of the forested views - it's a nice place to just relax and read. There are several places to sit, and even a few tables with chairs outside.The curated selection of books and other media in the childrens' section (where I have the most experience going) is delightful - there are so many gems! They're also part of an online library for ebooks.The childrens' section is separate from the main area and has some toys available, a couple of computers with kids' games, a crafting room for various programs, and its own family bathroom.There's more available than just reading, of course. Several computers are set up in the adult section, a few meeting rooms of varying size are free to rent, and the programs offered are varied regarding age groups and content. They also sell books in a dedicated section. There's even a nearby park (Fighting Creek) that has a few trails and a shaded playground and one trail connects the park to the library. I've probably left something out, but I feel lucky we have a library like this.
