I liked this particular Banfield better than any previous one. The front staff was super friendly & my apps time was exact. Which I made online 30 minutes prior. The vet tech was so pleasant & gave my puppy a toy to chew on. The veterinarian was kind & compassionate. The downside - I feel no one explained the mi or details well enough. The insurance packet is limited on details of what they cover. Also, I didnt realize the county dog tag wasn't included in the price which was $244 for vaccinations. Super Expensive.

Banifeild Pet Hospital is undoubtedly expensive but is cheaper if you have pet insurance for regular checkups. While I endorse their services, they are by no means perfect. One issue that I have with them is their strict time policy for appointments. It is recommended you arrive 15 mins prior to your scheduled appointment, however if you are 5 mins late they will cancel your appointment. It was very frustrating when it happened to me in the past. Additionally, the pet drop off service can take hours depending on what you type of treatment you are receiving with no given timeframe until you are called back for pickup. It can be annoying when there is not an accurate time of reference, especially if you are planning your day around your pet’s appointment. I am not a fan of this approach as it seems that your pets treatment takes way longer than what would be reasonably expected for something like getting a checkup, shots or a uti examination.Lastly, the wait times when being placed on hold can be quite absurd after you say that your call is not an emergency. I’ve waited on multiple occasions (approx. 20 mins) just to have a simple question answered. Perhaps a solution to this issue would be for the telephone operator to ask you what’s up before being placed on hold immediately after saying it’s not an emergency.Despite these complaints about Banfeild, they take good care of your pet overall.

I brought my dog IVORY for the first time to this location due to it being near my job. If I could rate this place it would be -10. The service is ridiculous. I brought my dog in at 8:15 am and was not serviced until 8:45 am. 8:45am. 30 minutes of just standing around. I worked an entire 8 hour shift and my dog was still not ready at this time. (Meanwhile she only came in for a comprehensive exam). Please don't come to this location. More staff needs to be at the front desk and when I called to check on my puppy they informed me she is resting and the doctor will call when she is ready. Just stating this because I did not receive any updates on her wellbeing.

Insanely terrible clinic. They are robbing people with their fraudulent practice.

Love the pet wellness plan. They are busy, so appointments are a few weeks out especially if you want to see the same Doc each time. But they take great care of our furry family members.

THE WELLNESS PLAN we've had for a least ten years @$59 a month. This includes 2 comprehensive visits per year, this visit keeps our dog up to date on all vaccines, rabies, fecal testing & teeth cleaning which involves blood work and anesthesia. This is a HUGE SAVINGS.Another PLUS is the staff and doctors have all been wonderful, absolutely top notch care!HOWEVER THE PLAN: ...is suppose to include "walk in" visits when you have a concern, FORGET IT, you must make an appointment. ...is suppose to include imagery should you have a concern, sadly no matter which Banfield you go to, "the X-ray machine is mobile and not at our sight right now". ...supposedly gives you a discount on medicines, we still have to go to online to get better discounts. All in all a good deal. Could be a great deal if they honored what they claim.

Disclaimer: I have to give it a star to leave the review....but best believe I would give it a -10 stars.Today was my first time going to a Banfield Pet Hospital. It was HORRIBLE. Arrived early, I was told I had to wait to be checked in as this was their policy. After being checked in at 10:28 am for the 10:30 am appointment, my dog was still not seen at 10:45 am. But every other person who brought an animal was greeted properly, their pet was acknowledged and they were helped IMMEDIATELY. But all of those people didn't look like me. I almost forgot, I was dealing with the MANAGER!I will never go back and encourage anyone who wants good quality, equity and inclusion service (if you look like me) go to a real vet office. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! SAVE YOUR DOG!

My recent visit to Reston Banfield is, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I took my dog, Jack, for a check and for getting an international travel certificate. I was assigned to an obviously inexperienced vet, whom I never got to talk to in person. Her messages were conveyed to me, through a front office person. Not only I never got the International certificate filled in, although I made it clear on the telephone that it would be the main reason of my visit, the vet refused to perform any additional vaccines beside rabbies vaccine. It was an awful experience, I travel 80 miles altogether for nothing, and ended up paying $ 170, just for a rabbies vaccine.

you must be your pets advocate here! over 30 days, two visits, 4 shots (distemper, rabies, alergies, arthritis), a prescription, and an "exam", costing several hundred dollars, my 10 yr old dog with a known heart condition was not checked for any progression of coronary disease. after an internet search for obvious developing symptoms and a trip to an emergency hospital this past weekend, we called a mobile vet and euthanized her. they know how to bill you but do they know what a stethascope is? totaling out somewhere around $2k, a little heads up warning would have been nice.

Sharing our experience that is not about inability to pay -- this is a failure to explain short- and long-term options, increase of fees quoted totaling an additional $429!, and need for transparency in precise cost of care. Our beloved Labradoodle, 12 ...Went for his annual checkupHis bloodwork was normalHis urine showed super high elevated WBCHe had an ultrasoundThe ultrasound shows a mass in his upper stomach areaA biopsy was takenNow waiting for resultsHe's now on amoxicillin (Clavamox) for a bacterial infection, likely in his mouth due to bad teeth -- quoted "up to $2,000 to remove a large tooth"He's also on metronidazole antibiotic for intestinal distressSharing the invoice for those with older dogs -- for years everything is great; then it's not. This isn't about ability to pay -- we can. This is about the importance of writing down each amount that is quoted to you (I did), disputing add-on fees that mysteriously appear in your final bill, and asking detailed questions to understand the overall path ahead.Since Google has blurred my invoice. The charges were:Office visit -- 74.95 -- waived per pet planBlood collection -- 12.31 -- waived per pet planCBC with pathologist review -- 141.18Clavamox -- 55.04Giardia Test -- 33.79Admin Fee for Ultrasound Outside Provider -- 115.38 -- this fee was not quoted to meAntisdean, BP monitoring, anesthesia, Butorphanol, Dexmedetomidine, doctor supervision, team care, ward fee, oxygen -- 187.51Medical procedure assistant -- 48.98Metronidazole -- 26.80Ultrasound Fee -- 1,000 -- I was told the fee would be 686Proviable Forte -- 121.05Radiograph Consult and Image -- 121.05Radiology Thorax -- 282.70Urine test, collection, exam gravity -- 156.49 -- waived per pet plan

The vet and vet technicians are always incredibly caring towards my pets. They also make sure to effectively explain to me any potential health concerns my pet may have. Great customer service!

This is a quantity over quality business model. I shouldn’t have ignored all the one star reviews. They are well-earned.Don’t believe their wellness plan claims of saving money. They jack up the prices of their services to make a customer feel like they will save money on this scammy plan. Shop around, find a non-corporate vet.Every time we’ve left our dog for care they have forgotten services requested. Go to a vet that allows you to stay with your pet during routine check-ups and appointments. The reason they can’t allow that is the sheer volume of animals they push through in a day. It’s a volume game for Banfield.Better Business Bureau inquiry incoming.

Dr Frake is the absolute best. She is always on top of everything when it comes to our furry children's health. I drive almost 2 hours to come to this specific location. Plus the front desk staff, especially Jonathan, are all wonderful.

These folks are so busy that sometimes it seems like they don't really care, but they do. Trust me. They are short staffed, so it makes things really difficult for them. My pets have been patients for years and everyone is really kind. I don't want to call anyone out for fear of forgetting someone who has been part of our care team, but I will say the Dr. Frake is really wonderful.
