Staff needs to be more professional and have a better understanding of what credit cards they take. Calling around to see if someone has heard of a specific MASTERCARD is just unprofessional and rude. Anyways I was able to rent some place else same price and less hassle. Avis do better your ruining your brand with unprofessional staff. Step your game up customer service is what matters now a days your not the only rental place in Richmond.

Avoid at all cost. I wait for 78 minutes to get a car. No upgrade. I am avis president plus member.System gave me a lexus 350. They manually overide it to a malibu with a proud.When I leave, there are 10 more people behind me.

Purchased a rental car at Avis on West Broad st in VA. The process went very smooth. Would definitely recommend this place!!

Stay away from this place, dishonest and disrespectful. Extremely rude lady at the front desk. She tried to overcharge me for gas even though the tank was full. Started getting defensive cause she got caught in the lie. Use the Avis Budget location 2 miles East from here that's better.

This was the best experience I’ve had with Avis. The main reason was because of the best customer service I’ve ever had, this was due to Paulette Daley! She was professional, kind, and just an all around amazing person! She tended to my needs and provided excellent advice, she quickly got me out of the door and when she saw the vehicle was a little dirty due to a storm that passed through she had her team clean the exterior car on the spot. I didn’t even suggest it! She went out of her way. She was truly incredible. Avis is very lucky to have her running that offices operations. She is an example of what it means to be a stellar employee. Honestly, I’ve never had such incredible service! When I returned the car she was just as amazing and I couldn’t thank her enough for help and service. Thank you Paulette and I’ll definitely be coming back because of you!!!!

Rented a KIA car for a trip from Richmond, VA to Miami, FL. The car was ready on time but that’s where everything stopped. One of the seatbelts in the back wouldn’t buckle regardless of what we tried. After numerous calls and visits to other locations after being told they could swap the car, each store said they had nothing to give us. Apparently stores can’t call other stores and the 1800 number is a call center outside the country?? This entire situation prior to a long trip was exhausting and stressful. I’m a first time customer to Avis but likely will be my last. The customer service at the 4mile fork location in Fredericksburg, VA was horrible. The white male behind the counter appeared to be high as a kite, his eyes were rolling into the back of his head while standing up ??♂️

The lady Paula at the front desk was awful. If self hate was a person it would be this lady. I sat and watched how nice and graciously she treated the Caucasian man in front of me so I just knew I would get the same type of support. To my surprise she hardly spoke and became really short with her responses when it was my turn.I had already paid $76 to reserve my vehicle and I went to pay with my Varo Believe Credit card which I’ve used at to rent cars at Avis many time. She was so hateful and dismissive and seemed to take satisfaction in letting me know that I didn’t have a major bank card and could not rent here. I took my business across the street to Enterprise where I was treated with respect and quickly allowed to reserve and check out my rental.I went back to Avis and asked for a refund and she told me I would have to call a regional office…would not even offer a phone number. When I did call the office I was promptly notified that I could use this type of credit card and it should have been no problem. I’m still waiting on my refund so hopefully that processes quick enough. I honestly feel robbed at the moment.My suggestion to you all is train your employees on being kind and courteous to everyone and also be sure that they if they are giving out information that is the correct information. When someone is renting a car they may not always be in a position to run across the street to Enterprise like I did when they’re receiving impossible customer support. Please retrain this lady immediately!!!!

On 4/19/23, AVIS customer service told me; I would receive a refund of $750 out of a car rental for $1338.78. On 6/14/23, AVIS customer service said that the $750 money was not refundable. Why lie on the promising a refund????

Avis received my booking for a minivan when they never had one at their location. I had to fork out extra $$ to get an equivalent vehicle (including added insurance/liability costs). To me this was a deliberate act & not acceptable.

I've rented from this location almost monthly for more than a year now and have found their service to be consistent and reliable. They've been flexible and responsive whenever an unexpected issue has popped up. Highly recommended.
