Great customer service!! They are friendly and their prices are reasonable. Had to have 2 gold chains and a gold bracelet repaired and turnaround time was quick and the cost to repair was reasonable. They even called after I picked up mu jewelry to make sure I was satisfied and to see if I needed anything else.

I just lost my husband in November after 25 years of marriage. On top of grieving him...my engagement ring is worn and thinning out to the point, I can't wear it because it could break and, I can't take the chance of losing it. I was referred to Cowardin in order to get my ring repaired. I walked in and was IMMEDIATELY greeted by a sales person. When I showed my ring the only thing he wanted me to do was "buy another ring". I explained to him that wasn't an option and this ring HAD to be fixed. He then told me that it was too worn out to be fixed. He said I had prongs missing (I didn't) and other things that weren't true. So...my opinion....they won't help you with anything that has sentimental value....they are only interested in padding their pockets.Because after he turned me away without any consideration to what I was telling him.....I found a small family owned business that IS going to fix my ring. So....I KNOW it was able to be fixed...Cowardin just didn't want to bother helping.

My fiancé had a wonderful experience here as they helped him source stones for my engagement ring. We returned to purchase our wedding bands and it was another great experience! They took the time to help each of us find our perfect size and the rings we wanted. Fast turnaround time and wonderful employees. We can't recommend Cowardin's enough!

Brought in my platinum wedding band to get resized a few months ago and they did an amazing job for a great price, and faster than expected too. I had to come back in for them to adjust the size just a little bit but they did that right away for me while I waited which was very nice. I recommend this place to my friends and family now for similar services!!

Prominently displayed in the showroom is a faux oil painting reproduction picture of Cowardin's founder in the regalia of the Richmond Howitzers as they were outfitted between their stint as part of the confederate army of Northern Virginia and their return to federal service for WWI. The Howitzer's were a darling of the Lost Cause movement and a statue dedicated to them and sculpted by William Ludwell Sheppard "artist of the Lost Cause" was removed from Park Avenue and Harrison Street in 2020. The painting at Cowardin's is no doubt there to celebrate their history by casting a bright light on the particularly racist history the painting evokes. Other than that the showroom was clean and did not smell bad.

Went in the store to get some repairs and a price of resetting a pair of diamond earrings. Once I got the estimate I was left standing there. Mr. Cowardin walks away. No direction on the repairs didn’t ask to see what needed to be done. Stood and stood no help at customer service either. It seem like no purchase no help. The thing Mr. Cowardin that you don’t know is a good friend of yours recommended you to me. So now you lost my business and I will share my experience with my family friends and your friend who recommended you. I bet if you know that the tables would have turned. You never know who you may be waiting on.

My husband purchased a diamond ring from Cowardin's as a Christmas surprise. We are well-connected young professionals looking for lifelong jewelers and wanted to test the waters to share with our network. There was a misunderstanding but after bringing it to their attention they took swift action to fix the issue. It's often said that true colors are shown under pressure, and I am extremely pleased with the responsiveness and care they showed in what was likely an annoying situation for them. The ring itself is beautiful and they do try to provide top notch cuts regardless of clarity.

Friendly customer service personnel. Installed a watch battery and new gasket in an old watch without overcharging. Treated me as though they wanted my business unless some jewelry chains at the mall.
