Had my grandmothers vehicle for one full month. My mother went to pick it up drove its 3 mins away an it started overheated. He then disrespected my mother to her FACE. Now this is UNACCEPTABLE!

Jimmy replaced my transmission pan and changed my transmission fluid for below market price in the dark in the middle of the night so I wouldn’t get stuck in Richmond ( I live in Alexandria) I wouldn’t recommend anyone else. He’s amazing!

Heims transmission does excellent work fast and friendly they have done Trans. for me and I have no complaints and never had to take one backAnd have sent friends there and no problems.

I spoke to Jimmy, who I think is the owner of one of the owners, and his demeanor is very rude and nonchalant. When I asked him to explain, how he arrived at the price he threw out at me and he had the audacity to tell me that everybody in Richmond has worked on my vehicle and I corrected him and have no idea why he said that. What it all boils down to is when I looked on his site and looked at everything. He specializes in transmission, and I don't even know if I have a transmission problem. The GMC dealer says I have an electrical problem and possibly an internal problem. He was going to take my vehicle and guarantee me that everything is gonna be fixed and working. But how can you when you don't do electrical work? Well, it doesn't state that you do electrical work, only states you specialize in transmissions.

I wish I could leave 0 stars! Very dissatisfied with service. Jimmy was quite unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. I called and discussed in detail what my problem was with my vehicle and what I was dealing with warranty company on it . He agreed to take a look and work with warranty companyHe kept car for two days then called with an estimate. He was unable to answer basic questions like how long the job should take. An experienced shop /owner should be able to answer this simple one question either from doing the job before on this type of car or from experience , not just telling me " I can do the removal of your transmission for $1,000 and I don't know how long it's going to take"Stay away from this place. He let it be known by his elusive answers and most importantly BY HANGING UP ON ME AND MOVING MY VEHICLE OFF OF HIS PROPERTY BEFORE I COULD EVEN GET THERE TO THE ADJACENT GAS STATION TO RISK GETTING TOWED that he clearly does not value my business. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU ENJOY UNPROFESSIONALISM AND RUDENESS

Honest mechanic!!! He could have easily charged me $2500 to rebuild transmission but it ended up being a broken halfshaft.It did take several weeks.

I had a cracked flexplate and needed a repair. Heim's charged me 1/4th the price that the dealership wanted. They had my car fixed within 24 hours. I can't say enough good things about this company.

Took a vehicle to this place for a diagnostic ONLY. After not hearing any information, called to find out that the “problem “ was fixed for $1000. Furthermore, was informed that the catalytic converters were stolen and no report filed but had been replaced by the cheapest option available. After waiting a half hour to retrieve the vehicle, drove it about 15 min, parked it and now it won’t even start but car has battery power. This was a wicked display of personal preference. This man’s ego will be his downfall.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I was recommended this shop from a friend. Glad I sent my truck they didn't disappoint. After two other shops sat on my truck for over one month between the two I had my truck towed from Stafford VA to Heims. I wasn't given any excuses about how the truck was to big or that they only had one lift my truck would fit on, just one call sayin it was done and what the problem was.

Jimmy is amazing. I pulled in and found him and he took a look at my car and then fixed it in like 4 seconds. After that he just asked for 20 bucks and then he helped me get my car over to the Exon so I didn’t have to drive through Richmond traffic. Such a good and kind guy.Service: Transmission

I called and described my car's problem. he told me to bring it in so I did. He stopped what he was doing to go for a ride and quickly found that it was not the transmission but began helping me understand what route to take. He then suggested a great mechanic and told me to have a good week. I tried my best to pay him for his time and expertise but he wouldn't accept it. Makes me wish I actually had a transmission problem After that experience, Himes became my go-to transmission shop.

This review supersedes all others about this companyMy son was traveling from Connecticut to Florida and made it to Richmond before smoking a Transmission.i located a brand new Ford Transmission from the Ford dealership and after several calls to shops not wanting to install a part that wasn’t purchased through them because of warranty issues ( what issues the transmission is brand new) I called HeimsThis guy was a total pleasure to deal with in fact he knew our dilemma about the camper being in storage and costing us money that he took in our vehicle the day I called him and he did exactly what he promised he got it done for the next day.His world is gold and quite honestly if you have a problem with him or his work the problem may be youThanks Heims transmissions you are a class act
