The Hilldrup team was professional from start to finish and did an excellent job with my move. The quote process was clear and fair, and the communication from my move coordinator was timely and consistent from the time that I received the quote through the week after the move making sure everything was in good shape. After hearing all the horror stories, it was a pleasure to deal with this company. They delivered, literally and figuratively, in time, at the fixed rate and there was not one damaged or missing item of my household. Would thoroughly recommend this particular branch. The sales person and coordinator were terrific too.

Hilldrup Richmond. From the time the truck pulled up, I knew we were in trouble. Going back to the day prior, the packing team showed up at 8am. A 3 adult team and didn’t leave until 7:30pm. The head lady was on her game. But one lady complained the whole day about doing her job. My mindset is if you’re going to complain about doing the job you chose, maybe you should choose another job.I thought when we selected this company, they would send their team to do the move. Nope. After listening to the movers (2 adult humans) for a 3 story townhouse move to a 4000sqft 2 story house. Which to give context when we moved in there were 5 adult humans that moved us in. So the 2 movers were contractors that lived 2 hours away.
At the end of the day drove back home. Just to drive right back to the new house to unpack us. They didn’t finish packing the house the first day. Let alone the storage because they didn’t have a truck sufficient enough for the job. I asked them on Friday, would they like to go to the new house to start unloading since we had closed and received the keys. They said no and ended the first day at 2pm. They said they would return the next day with “Way more help, at least 3 more guys” his words. This was comforting. Until they showed up the next day and it was only the same 2 guys. They showed up at 8:30am and didn’t leave until 9:30pm. Then the guy is telling me they may not be able to get all the boxes, furniture, and bins upstairs and would have to leave things in the garage for us to finish because he was almost out of hours of service.
I have a Class A CDL so I reminded him about his 16 hour exemption and told him everything would be going where my wife wanted it or I guess they’d be coming back on Sunday. Furniture was damaged as they got sloppy towards the end of the day because fatigue is undefeated and proper decision making goes out the window. I think this was a fail because even if a company like Hilldrup outsources the work, you should still ask for a plan from the contractor and when they say it’s going to be 2 people conducting a move of this magnitude. You should intervene and correct the plan. Same as other reviews they said our furniture was worn until I showed him sales orders where we had just purchased everything new within 2 months of the move.

A crew of 4 people came and packed up our entire townhouse in record time. Very courteous and friendly and were careful while packing. We definitely would use them again if needed.
