ZERO stars needs to be an option! Never ever answers the phone! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! any where but cary town location. Yes call will roll over to national call center but NO NO I want to speak to someone local. No one I mean no one "EVER" answers the phone! This location is a joke and should close! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!

I had to point out items to lower the amount I owed to the tax preparer, had I not, I would have owed more. I felt he should have done this as I was paying for the service which cost me over $300. Will not be using them again...my mistake.

Nothing but terrible experiences at this place.
Last year the tax pro who had been working with us disappeared a few days before the filing deadline. He had been helping us file our taxes for the prior year and refiling for another tax year. He never finished preparing them. We were never alerted that he was done for the season.
I returned twice during open hours when I got off work. The front door was locked both times. I had to knock several times on my second visit before someone hiding in a cubicle came out and said they were closed -- mind you this was a weekday and two hours before they were scheduled to close for the day. Another tax pro helped us complete our taxes -- but only after the filing deadline. Fortunately we didn't owe money so we weren't penalized.
Months later when our IRS return for the refile never came, we couldn't get anyone at HR Block to help us figure out if we failed to send a form. (Never mind that we couldn't get any answers from the IRS either.)
We made another appointment recently to figure out what happened with our 2021 refiling. The tax pro we were scheduled to meet was a no show. Another accountant agreed to help us out. It was the same person who eventually did our taxes last year. Turns out she never sent the paperwork to the IRS. She said she would send it by mail the next day and send us a USPS tracking number to verify that it's been sent. It's been a week and she hasn't followed up or replied to a message I sent earlier this week.
Abysmal service. Don't trust these people with your taxes.

Fast, accurate tax service with a friendly staff. I was missing a single document, but upon locating it was able to complete my filing the same day. Price was reasonable for the security of having a professional handle it all for me.

Harderison Malloy makes good use of our time. He is knowledgeable and gives good advice regarding the following year. Generally makes us feel that his there to serve us. He is calm and professional and seems to have a stake in making H&R Block look good.

The number of times I had to correct a tax professional about how to fill out these forms was honestly appalling. You would need to have more than a basic understanding of tax preparation to ever confidently use their services. I would have been cheated out of thousands of dollars if I had blindly trusted what I was presented. My tax preparer was incredibly arrogant and insisted that the numbers were right, even though I found multiple errors from his work. He also made multiple errors that he was unwilling to correct (including the dates my taxes would be paid - he didn't think these were a big deal). At one point, he chided me for being a "stickler for details." Sir, you are a tax professional. You better start caring about details if you don't want paying customers audited.Update: I never received a call back from the supervisor that claimed she would be resolving my earlier issue. This is after contacting the number that is provided in replies to these reviews. So just know, it's going to be a huge waste of your time and they have no interest in resolving any issues.
