William Erickson did my taxes this year and I’m beyond happy with his service. I went to multiple other businesses to help me with a more complex tax situation and none were willing to go out of their way to help me like Mr Erickson did. I will be going to him as long as I live in Richmond.

This was my first time going to H&R Block and I will not be back. I had a more complicated tax situation than I normally do, so I went here to have their "tax professional" help me. My appointment and documents were submitted about a month before taxes were due and the "professional" never finished them!! I messaged him multiple times through the app and he just didn't respond. I've missed the deadline now and will have to go through their whole complaint and escalation process to literally just get my taxes filed. Then they asked me "what do I hope to get out of this escalation process?" Bro, just to get my taxes filed!!??

Made an appointment to get taxes done mostly for refund advance purposes and I will be having twins in a month or so and wanted to get it over with as soon as possible. Went to see the guy who I have been going too now for 4 years. When I get there he doesn’t recognize me which is fine who cares but proceeds to say the office called to reschedule because he has a doctors appointment. A older lady came in and sat down and said she was waiting for him too. I ended up not having the correct W2 which was fine my fault but the tax preparer told me I wasn’t memorable like the hat lady (old lady) behind me and she was a more memorable customer?! I thought that was shockingly rude for no reason. When I was leaving he was assisting her and it was after the time he said he needed to go to the doctor. Which made me feel like he had no doctors appointment he just wanted to service this more memorable old lady. Whatever needless to say I’m always really nice and prepared and never had an issue before but was rubbed the wrong way so I will not be going to this location anymore. Idk what’s going on these days good reliable consistent customer service seems so hard to come by. And just because you say things with a smile and in a polite tone doesn’t make it ok to say especially with folks who you have been paying $200 plus a year to complete taxes with. I’ll take my services to someone else.

im not naming names but oh my goodness what a nightmare. It took over 5 hours to prep our taxes first off. second, it cost more than double what we had paid any other year. we have been doing our taxes with HR Block for nearly a decade. the computer had the wrong signatures and it was unable to be fixed and on top of all that, the refund we were expecting turned into a balance. so instead of a refund we have to pay in. HR Block obviously messed something up and now we have this to deal with on top of every other thing. I will not be returning, save your time and go anywhere else. turbo tax is more reliable.Edit: they won’t honor the “peace of mind” guarantee that we paid extra for, and they won’t give us a refund. Never coming back to hr block

This is my first and last time working with Hr Block.After having Mr Thad Jones prepare my returns and my late fathers last return it was a truly unpleasant experience.Mr Jones was very rude the one meeting we did have after multiple failed attempts at using there app.To say he was just rude would do it just he was very short when answering my questions as (this is my first time using a tax service) and he had a very condescending tone through the whole ordeal. Even after being in all the paperwork that the IRS sent me for my Fathers final return he said that they were able to do anything with it so this whole experience has left me with more questions then answer and it’s very frustrating.Now I have to find a way to process my fathers 2021 paperwork after this Egregious waste of time.
