The new loss prevention mechanisms are very obtrusive. Self-checkout is extremely narrowly tuned and the alarms were constantly going off as people didn't scan receipts. The line really built up, and they only had 1 person covering the registers. Way downhill from where it was before

They have installed a whole fleet of tracking tools for loss prevention which means you get alarms blaring the entire time you shop because people keep setting off their insane doorsteps. You have to swipe a receipt to leave. They will literally not let you leave unless you buy.

It's cheap but very frustrating with long lines and self checkouts that malfunction and you have to wait forever for someone to fix it. Not sure the low prices are worth the stress. Might switch to Publix, which is more expensive but might save me money on blood pressure medication

Rough rowing late on Sunday night.
The added friction of having to use the receipt barcode to exit the store is....another source of friction for a tired customer being forced to use self checkout when the store is already stripped bare.

Lidl is a German company with mostly private label brands, and they're consistently good. They have fresh baked breads. There are several aisles of temporary items including tools and clothing and home products.

Lidl is such a great store. I stopped in while I was in the area to grab some of my usual items. Even though this wasn’t my regular Lidl location, the store was well stocked and it was really easy to find everything I needed. The staff was friendly and the store was clean, which always makes shopping more pleasant. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m nearby!

The cashier was flat-out rude. He huffed when I asked to cancel my items and also tossed my receipt on the counter without saying a word. If I’m spending my money here, I at least expect to be treated with basic respect. Will not be returning.
