Spent two restfull nights at the historic Linden Row Inn.The intangible feel of history resides here. You can see it in the layout and hear it in the story behind Linden Row but it's the feel that sets it apart. Thanks to Maria with her welcoming spirit and thanks to Michael for your late night history lessons.Don't forget to spend some time with Annabelle the resident cat. She's usually found sleeping in the front of the Inn.Walkability: Very close to restaurants and the fantastic VMFA, Poe museum, holocaust museum and many other incredible and fascinating places.

It would have been nice to have someone to help with luggage transfer. Parking was extra and about 4 blocks away and walk back. Parking cost was $15 for 24 hours. Valet parking would be nice. The rooms were very nice and CLEAN. My mattress was great. Large TV in my room. I would visit again.

Great attractive location in the heart of downtown Richmond. Comfortable clean room, somewhat basic (no robes for instance), softer plush matress. Good value, great restaurants nearby.Walkability: 2 mile walk from the museum district, short walk to the Virginia Capitol.

Great location. It is close to everything downtown. I loved staying here. It is a one of a kind location. The staff is friendly and decor is gorgeous. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to the suite and leave some time in the courtyard, rock in the rocking chairs and pet Annabel, the resident ?⬛.

Very unique rooms, but the problem with unique is that it needs to be extremely clean to look clean. The carpet and some of the walls definitely needed to be cleaned .

Having never been to RVA before, we chose this place since it was close to the start of the Richmond marathon, which I was running on Saturday. This is not a newly-built or remodeled hotel, but a historic inn. I love the historic features of this place, from the high ceilings to the non-working fireplaces in both the main room and bathroom. The entire building felt full of character and, while it may have a fresh coat of paint or new bedding, hasn't lost the charm of it's many years of service.Only things we didn't like were having to pay for parking (though it was only $7/day) and our bed frame squeaked, so every time moved at night, I was worried I'd wake up my wife and/or our kids in the bed next to us.All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Nice hotel in an amazing, old building that seems from some the turn of the 20th century. Unfortunately it is not terribly kid friendly. Courtyard is a great place to eat at their in-house cafe, and the rooms are very spacious.Rooms: We had a large two queen room, which was a pleasant surprise! One of our kids got sick and threw up but they didn't have enough replacement linens or pillows until the following day. Had to call down to reception multiple times to get them to remove the spoiled linens and replace the temporary linens they gave us.Walkability: It's in downtown so there are plenty of shops nearby including food. Not much open before 10, though!Food & drinks: No nearby shops or food is available before 9am, including their in-house cafe unless you're willing to walk quite a few blocks, which is pretty difficult with kids.

For the two night stay, we did not think the $850 was worth it. The historical factor was nice but location was not as close to VCU as we would have liked. The reception area to the hotel seemed like it was added as an after thought. There is an elevator to use but it was so small that 3 people plus luggage was packed! Once on the 3rd floor, we encountered weird stairs down and then back up to get to my room. This is a hazard for elderly people. The king size bed had a sloping indentation in it from a lot of use. The room decor was dated. There was a one cup Kerig type coffee maker if you could get it to work. No mini refrig. There was also a wedding going on, Fri and Sat nights so sleeping was not happening until the DJ quit sometime after 10:30pm. The wedding guests were still loud well after the dj stopped playing. The Hotel Monaco in DC is pricey just like the Linden but they have redecorated the entire hotel. Each room has complimentary water, mini refrig and comfy plush robes for his and her. In the evening they offer a cocktail hour social for all guests to mingle. The Linden could be a pretty spectacular place if they renovated it and added in sweet little touches like Hotel Monaco in DC does.

Love staying here. A home away from home. The service is outstanding. Everyone that stayed here for my daughter's wedding raves about the warmth of hospitality, their huge room, the unique architectural details and historical vibe, and the location. The staff feels like part of the family. They were so kind, caring, supportive and generous with a late checkout and offer to help at different points with wedding stuff I was carrying. We love them as a family and talk about how amazing they are in their hospitality and service. It is wonderful having this place to frequently stay at in Richmond now that I don't have my own homr there anymore. When I checked out after being there almost a week with various family members and wedding guests staying there too, both of the front desk gals made a point to say goodbye and tell me how much they enjoy me and my family staying there and tell me how we are a pleasure for them because we are well mannered, polite, friendly, kind and never cause any problems and leave our rooms clean. It felt so good to hear and had me feeling so much pride. We just adore them. I told Richmond, her support and care kept me going. We also had a huge florist delivery of over and the ladies kept it safe until we were there to take upstairs. Just so sweet and wonderful. We love them as a family and all agree they make the hotel that much greater. Southern hospitality at it's finest. I am pleased to consider these wonderful ladies friends. All the staff is friendly and helpful. Annabelle is sweet too and always enjoy giving her some affection.
