“We live about 1 1/2 hours away from Richmond, so when it came time to sell our house there, we asked around. Corby came highly recommended by a neighbor. In our first meeting, he asked more questions than he made statements. He shared some ideas on pricing, and preparation and then left us to make a decision. On our second meeting he presented his pricing and supported his recommendation with logic, and a vast knowledge of the neighborhood. We held off advertising the house for about 2 weeks while we got the house ready. During that time, Corby met with contractors, landscapers, photographers and stagers. “When I first reached out to pollard and bagby, I had a feeling I knew exactly what kind of company they would be. I assumed they would be very professional, do things very legally sound and by the books, and had a lot of experience working in this sector of things. I was correct in my assumptions. As a renter, I felt sure they would take care of the issues that were dangerous (a live wire, for example) and when we found one, they IMMEDIATELY sent someone out to take care of it safely. There was no lag time.

Now, one thing I understand is they are the mediator between the renter and the owner, this means there often will be some lag time in certain requests because people have lives. I think the time it took to get certain issues dealt with was extremely reasonable.

I was able to build a really nice relationship with Kathleen during the course of renting from them. I am sure I rubbed her the wrong way at first but once we cleared up some misunderstandings, I felt so comfortable going to her for anything. If she wasn't the right person to go to, she always gladly directed me to the right department. In fact, everyone I have interacted with there has been very personable and kind to me. I never once felt used or taken advantage of. They were very clear in explaining how things needed to be done.

I ended up getting off my lease early, no fault of Pollard and Bagby, and my roommate kept the lease in their name so they let us know that there is a one time lease changing fee of $500. They were willing to work with us, were clear, concise and direct in their explanations, and quickly sought approval from the owners. I 100% would rent from Pollard and Bagby in the future and if I were ever an owner looking to rent my home, they would be the first company I call to manage it. I even asked if they help people when purchasing a home because I feel so comfortable working with them!
