I want to share about my experience with Donna Washington, one of the financial service representatives with RVA Financial. Donna was so pleasant to work with. Some representatives just go through the motions of handling paperwork but Donna went above and beyond! She helped me with my loan application and made the process such an ease. Donna was polite and gave sound guidance and advice to assist with building my financial credibility. Donna gave clear and concise instructions during the process and answered my questions. I must say, Donna was and is by far the best representative I have encountered when calling to handle financial matters with RVA Financial. I hope this yields her a raise or some type of incentive/commission because she is well deserving of such for such exemplary leadership and stellar customer service/support.

I have been banking here for years when it was New Generation FCU. They change the name and the employees think you can address a total stranger by their first name.... Call me old fashioned, I don't know you so there for I don't give you permission to call me by my first name. Their policy and rules have slacked tremendously.

I’ve been a member of RVA for many many many years .. I love how they help you out in situations they make sure you get the best deals and interest rate .. I just work with Mrs.Donna Washington she gave me good advice while I was searching for a new vehicle and pointed me in the right direction with that been said I purchased a vehicle for my birthday within a couple of days of working with Mrs.Donna ?..Thanks RVA so much for being there when I needed y’all !! ???

Bri was beyond excellent to work with. She exceeded our needs and answered every question that we had. My wife and I came in looking for information on a personal loan as well as refinancing a motorcycle loan. We left there as smiling customer's. 5 STARS for Bri and her team.

If I could leave 0 stars I most definitely would! Hands down thee worst bank I have ever banked with… wish I could leave them but unfortunately they have me in a chokehold with this outrageous car loan… every month the loan gets higher which means I will never pay it off! Do NOT recommend at all!!!

Today, I had an amazingly wonderful experience with RVA Financial loan member representative, Bri Rick. She was so knowledgeable and patient with me. I’m a senior citizen, forgetful and rather slow sometimes..My experience was unbelievably unexpected. RVA FInancial is very much fortunate to have someone like Bri to represent the company values and show appreciation for customers choosing to do business with RVA Financial….customers do have a choice. Please acknowledge Bri for her over-the-top performance today…give the Associate a Bonus !!!

Donna Washington was awesome. She really helped me with refinancing my auto loan and explained everything much better than where I originally financed the car. She followed up with me every step of the way and was so pleasant during the entire process. THANK YOU DONNA!!

This is by far the worst credit union I've dealt with, even the manager lacks professionalism (They just made everything automated, therefore you have to schedule an appointment to speak with a person. I waited 45 minutes past ny scheduled meeting time with the branch manager for her to never show or even apologize for wasting my time.) I called 4 times in 2 days and left messages 3x, called me back hours later and said nothing, absolutely no response. After a minute and half of me constantly repeating hello/ is anyone there I hang up.. Took an hour to be called again by then it was 1:30, (I was sleep for my night shift), they didn't even leave a message with the information I called for. They can't even email me a breakdown account guidelines yet constantly send emails about refinancing a car that's 3 years too old ?. This branch just drops the ball every chance they get imo.

Just got off the phone with RVA Financial. Months ago my Husband & I made an account. Had to go out to our car to get money out of our safe $5 for opening an account. We unfortunately never used this account & moved. I am trying to get my $5 back now & they are saying we NEVER gave them $5. I have no money so the fact you all are stealing people's money. I am not okay with. I'm glad we did not ever use this bank now.

Calling the customer service center is often a frustrating experience, as they are unable to help 99% of the time. I recently called before attempting to make a mobile deposit, and was told the funds should be available today. Had I been informed that the funds would not be available, I would have gone to the branch and cashed the check. Unfortunately, the funds are still not in my account, and when I call, I am told the branch is closed, even though the website says it is open. The customer service representative simply said to call back on Monday during business hours, and was unable to provide any information on when the funds would clear. This is a payroll check from a company that deposits funds into my account three times a month, so why is it so difficult for RVA to get the funds into my account?Furthermore, this is the only credit union that charges a $15 fee to post funds. VACU and NFCU do not charge this fee, which is a perk of being a member. On another occasion, the customer service representative told me I could cash a large check without a hold, so I drove 30 minutes for nothing. It turns out there was a 7 day hold on the account.It is clear that the customer service center is not providing accurate information, and that the fees associated with this credit union are not competitive with other institutions. This is a major inconvenience for members, and it is time for RVA to step up and provide better service.

If you’re looking for a nice reliable local credit Union this isn’t the one. I tried to mobile deposit a Check on Friday it got it got rejected I called and the people(yes I called twice) I spoke with could not tell me anything about my account and couldn’t even see the deposit. So now come Monday I call at 9:03 Am as they’re opening. I can’t speak with anybody about my deposit, I was told I would receive a call back before 5pm. I call again at 1 the person I speak to can’t tell me anything about my deposit and tells me they’ll upgrade my claim to urgent so I should expect a call back within an hour. Here I am at 8:15 Pm still waiting on a callback.(they closed at 5pm). The check isn’t an unordinary amount compared to my usual direct deposit. I tried to get a second auto loan last year I have a 750 credit score with a previous auto loan and plenty of income for 40k they offered me 22k with a 5% rate, I apply for a loan at Henrico FCU and they offer me 50k at half the rate. I’ve been with the company, and the previous company since I was 12 it feels like Im an outsider. If you’re looking for a good credit Union try Virginia CU, Henrico FCU, or Navy fed you’ll have a much better experience and save yourself the stress

Applied for a debt consolidation loan Carla was the rep who called me back initially she was helpful tone was pleasant once she found out I wanted to consolidate my debt her tone changed and I felt that I wasn't going to be approved instantly she asked me all these invasive questions why do you need the loan what are you doing with the money at one point she asked why don't you get your parents to take a loan out on their house 1st of all that's none of your business secondly she stated that escalating debt is the reason for your denial im trying to consolidate my debt I pay almost a 1000 a month in debt its ok to have our money deposited into these banks they will give you home loans car loans and maybe even a school loan but how dare you be black and ask for a business or debt consolidation loan you don't qualify its a shame that to this day 2022 blacks still being discriminated against I know I can't be the only member who have experienced this
