Never have I experienced such terrible customer service and such incompetence by a staff at a place of business before. I’m not only submitting a review based on several experiences I’ve had, but based on countless observations on the way they treat most people who enter their bank. I’ve had it and I’m taking my business elsewhere.

If you can avoid them do so. SunTrust, now "Truist" took over servicing of 2 of my home mortgages from Quicken Loans (Rocket Mortgage). I had nothing to do with this, it was a routine sale of my loans to SunTrust. Truist almost immediately sent me a notice of "late payment" even though they had not even sent me the new loan number. How can you pay when you don't have a loan yet. Calling them required 30+ minute waits to reach an agent. They sent a form apology letter. Next, getting online banking set up was a f...ing nightmare. They must have no quality control. I have done online banking without a hitch with multiple financial institutions--Truist is the worst. AVOID!!!

SunTrust, now Truist, is a joke. I opened a savings account online. Then I get a denial letter after they opened the account and had transferred money into the account. I called several times and they said their "Fraud Protection" office had noticed "irregularities" with the account. It's a savings account, nothing more. My credit is about 860, I'm a senior, with substantial assets. Not only is there no fraud, nothing in my background would warrant any concern (retired law enforcement). So I complain to the Consumer Federal Protection Board. They asked SunTrust to check into it. I got a letter from Kathy Bowles, Assistant Muckity Muck at SunTrust. She said for reason of "routine review" from fraud operations, they can close any account for any reason as explained in another letter. The other letter said nothing. In other words, NO EXPLANATION! I took my money (+$300k) to another bank who was very appreciative of my business. SunTrust, you suck. No wonder you were bought out by Truist. Hey Truist, FIRE BOWLES. She is worthless!!

This branch should be open by now. They cannot even have simple office hours posted correctly on line or on their branch voicemail. They say the lobby is open but it's still closed! Then when you tell them the hours say they are supposed to be open, you are greeted with "well we will let our manager know"!

Aside from the manager, these people are the worst. The old lady at the counter is rude as hell and the workers are incompetent. Terrible branch

The people at ST are nice, but the bank epitomizes the punitive fee structure that banks love. $36 on overdrafts. $10 for a transfer between your line of credit and your checking account (plus interest of course). I once tried to use their external transfer system to pay my landlord. It was a nightmare that took days to resolve after overdraft fees were stacking up. I now use Venmo. Also, ST charges you money if your checking drops below a certain amount. So, if you live paycheck to paycheck, this bank will inevitably screw you. if you live in Richmond, go with the VA Credit Union. Much better.

This branch was amazing with the small business account I used, and I wasn't even the company owner! They always went the extra mile for me. Highly recommended.

Not the most helpful or capable branch, unfortunately. Disappointing customer service at best.

This is the best, friendliest Suntrust in town. Everyone here is incredible, they all know your name, they are all helpful, and all fast. The only complaint is the older (55ish?) white lady who was clearly some sort of district manager that yells at her staff in front of customers. She should be fired immediately. Love you guys though, serious.
