Remember the days when you rolled up into a gas station and got full service? They were actually called "service" stations. An attendant would pump your gas, check your oil, check the tires and wash your windshield. I loved the sound of the gas meter as those numbers spin by... chink-a-chink-a-chink. Those were the days...ok, enough reminiscing. Fast forward to FasMart! Now nearly every gas station has a convenience store connected to it! You can fill up your tank, and refuel your body as well with a cup of coffee or a monstrous soda. And loads of snacks! You can even buy beer and lottery tickets. You pump your own gas, the windshield washer containers are almost always empty, and sometimes you even have to pay for air for your tires! There's usually someone waiting behind you, so forget checking your oil. Here at FasMart, things move a tad slower like the olden days. I saw people actually washing their windshields, checking the oil and tidying their cars! In my neighborhood, gas is higher than in some other areas. I was seeing $2.49, $2.39, $2.36, $2.33 a gallon... but when driving to my mom's near this Valero/FasMart I saw the $2.19 price and pulled right in! Fill 'er up, indeed! Hey, I know it's just a couple dollars savings, but every penny counts! "Take care of the pennies and the pounds (or dollars) will take care of themselves." I even went in and grabbed a snack and a drink! Vive le progrés. Vive le Valero!
