Best customer service around. We called because we were having truck issues and had the max care plan. Store 6154 Melissa and Keith went above and beyond because we were traveling from out of town, they squeezed us in, and got us back on the road. Truly the best.

The staff was very nice and easy to work with. They only wanted to give me a fraction of what Kelly BB said my vehicle was worth. When I tried to go through my bank, they said that the vehicle I wanted was marked up 2500. That with my remaining balance on my current loan would have more than doubled my car payment. I gave 3 stars because they weren't pushy in fact they were the opposite and I was helped quickly and knew my answer by the end of the day.

I've been trying to get the title to my Tacoma sent to the RVCCU who holds the lien on the vehicle for over three weeks and I keep getting the runaround. No one seems to have a clue where the bloody thing is! This is verging on the absurd!

Bought my car from naples fl and drove it home to west virginia. And in that 900 miles had many issues with car. But carmax exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond to repair my vehicle. Thank you to Dan and the rest of the team you guys are amazing!

Awesome People! DeMarcus and Taylor helped us yesterday. Taylor was training..and DeMarcus was great with her!! They were super nice and made our experience easy!! We sold our car to them. They explained everything during the process. Paperwork was easy. Pretty much eSign everything except maybe two papers. I had an online offer before our appointment. They honored the offer. I left with a check in hand. And my remaining car note paid off. Will definitely go back again if I sell any other vehicles!! Thank you!! And Good Luck, Taylor!!!

Best car-buying experience I've ever had, and I've bought a lot of cars, over my lifetime! I feel very confident that I am not buying someone else's car problems, when purchasing a used car from Carmax. The staff are very helpful and smiling, always!

Absolute nightmare! Had an old pickup that i couldnt really trust to drive me to visit my family. Parents live about 4 hours away and the rest of my family are in Illinois… i paid cash for a $19,000 newer vehicle. There is an unusual noise coming from within the wheel wells of the right side. They had it in the garage 4 times in the fist 3 months. I tried to talk about getting into something else, but they PROMISED me this would be resolved. They did do work on the brakes, but the noise persisted. The mechanic tried to convince me this noise was/is the purge valve on the turbo(?)… Now, a year later, all of my safety systems are triggered, my 4WD doesnt work, ABS is constantly active, and the traction control system is constantly active… They are trying to make me believe this is now a NEW problem…!!! DO NOT BUY FROM CARMAX! This should be criminal!!!

Very happy with this dealership. Was helped by a gentleman named Racer. He was awesome, and I really appreciated his honesty. He was easy to work with and had detailed responses to my questions. Would definitely recommend. I’ll prolly be going back here next time I need a vehicle.

I had a relatively good buying experience but during my test drive, I noted that the touchscreen for the car was malfunctioning and I was promised it would be fixed under the warranty. The only problem with that is the service department at this CarMax location is severely understaffed! CarMax needs to hire more people, or implement a system under which people can get their car repaired at local dealerships while they pay for it. I know this system is possible because the West Broad (Glen Allen, VA) location facilitated this process for me, which allowed my dealership to diagnose the issue, order the replacement part, and then perform the repair all done before I would've been able to even get an appointment at the Roanoke CarMax service center.

We got financing worked out over the phone with Carmax long before we ever went to look at the car we wanted to see about buying. We had found a car we liked in GA. It was shipped to VA (we paid).The financing process went very quickly and Carmax offered us a very much lower rate than our bank did (bank was 9.4%, Carmax was 5.25%...we have excellent credit). We dealt with Jess at the Roanoke store. She was very personable and a pleasure to speak with. Everything moved fairly quickly and before we knew it, we were on our way with our 'new' car!

Bought a vehicle from here and was told the vehicle had went through a check process and the fluids and all was changed. A week got a notification the oil was due to be change I checked and it was black. Took it to a shop to check and they said it had to be over 3-4k miles on the oil and should be changed. Paid to have it changed and contact car max to get a refund for what I paid since they told me it was done. They said their “records” show it was changed before it was sold which was a lie unless they drove it around the whole time before it was sold because it takes a while for oil to get black. So it was not changed. Also the engine has a tick at start up so gonna have that looked at by a certified dealer. They don’t check these vehicles before selling like they claim.

Purchased a car back in May, at that time the market was crazy so the price was pretty fair for that time. They promised to fix several minor issues. After months and called multiple people in the store, they told me to bring car back for another look over and make sure what parts are needed. Never heard back from them once again until I call them this January. They finally told me the parts are in. And I have to go to deal for the key issues. After the installation for the door panel trim, the door panel is loose and missing few clips. The screw was not all the way in and when I pull the door handle I can feel it is moving, I am not sure if the technician knows what is he doing. They said I can wait for a spot and bring it back to the store to take a look at. I have drove to Roanoke at least 6 times for the car issues and I live an hour away from Roanoke. The guy at the front desk is nice enough to take all my temper and help me walk through this.

Fast and easy- however they gave us one number for the negative equity and when we got there to sell the car to them, they still said we had negative equity after going to all the trouble of taking their numbers to the bank to get a personal loan. I feel that wasn’t right on their part. They should’ve ate that negative equity that they said that we owed at the day of sale.
