My plane was delayed and got in after rental agency closed so I called the main number and they assured me the car would be available the next day. I called again the following morning to make sure it was available and they assured me it would be. It was a prepaid car so they would hold it for 24 hours. when I arrived, they were unable to provide a car for me. This is ridiculous when I have pre-paid. Moreover, the local agent seemed blissfully, happy that he did not have a car to give me. Their Customer service sucks.

Yes I had a very verh bad experience with Dollar Car Rental. The first 2 times I didnt have a problem. I had booked with them for a 3rd time a month prior to my family trip and paid for it and 5 days before our trip I got an email saying their location will be closing and that Hertz will honor my reservation. That was so wrong. Took me almost a month to get my refund and their neighbor rental agency dont honor their reservations.

I think I have been discouraged from using Dollar Car Rental...forever. I booked my rental in September. I arrived in Roanoke to pick it up and the rental counter was closed. As in, they took everything that was not nailed down. I discovered they had left three weeks earlier. I called the customer service number and they did not know the Roanoke airport location was closed. After fifteen minutes on the phone with them, I was told they could not help me. There were no Dollar Car Rental locations in the area. I had to book from another agency. How can no one in the company know that the location is closed and then inform the customers with reservations?

Worst rental car company. Terrible rude customer service from the Roanoke VA Airport location. They lied about their rate by quoting me 2 days instead of 3 that I asked for and then told me I returned the car one day late! Save yourself the trouble and go with another company, trust me Dollar is not worth it. REVIEW YOUR RECEIPT CAREFULLY BEFORE TAKING THEIR CAR! Wish I could give them zero stars!

Made a reservation at 9:30am for a large SUV. Showed up at 9:20 and was told no large suv, how about a minivan that we still need to clean. I have been here 30 minutes now, not one update on how long. Also made the reservation through Travelocity and the guy said their system doesn't match up with Travelocity so he needs to change the agreed up (and pre-paid) terms.

Been sitting here for at least thirty minutes. We were second in line and were told to wait on the side while they fetched our car. Meanwhile, about ten people have come and gone - and were all given cars. Still waiting for the car... I would choose a different car rental service next time.

If I could leave no stars I would! My mom rented a car from them and they broke down coming home! The battery exploded apparently!! Well they sent a tow truck and got the rental car but left my mom and 4 others including 2 CHILDREN stranded on the side of the road. So far they have been stranded for almost 4 hours. They didn't bring a different car or anything! Said a taxi would be coming and then called back and said no one was available to drive the taxi so they are still stranded! A family member is on their way to go get them almost 2 and a half hours away!!! 2 and a half hours away and with 2 children and this company leaves them stranded!?! Absolutely worst place I have ever heard of! Absolutely do not recomend or suggest to anyone!!!!

Terrible company here, this office literally said they couldn’t help that the system charged me double the agreed upon rate and referred me to the 1-800 number.

Terrible customer service. They would rather help customers that are "easier" than those that arrive first. Our car broke down and I was forced to wait while they helped everyone behind me just because it would be more difficult to assist me first. Also while waiting, it seemed like every question I had just angered the service rep more and more.

i reserved a car and had the reservation confirmed. i paid the insurance on the car. went to the location and gave my name and was told i was not on the list. so i called the 800 number and got my confirmation code and went back to the desk and the same guy named "Jeff" was very rude in tone when he said, "Listen your not on there and we don't have a car for you and I'm not looking up any confirmation number" i said "could you at least try" and was hit with, "NO! YOUR NOT GETTING A CAR!" i then asked to speak with a manager and was told by the same guy, "YOUR NOT SPEAKING TO ANYONE'S MANAGER!" i walked away in disbelief. worst customer service ever. they obviously don't care about keeping customers..... I am very saddened by the fact that customer service at this Roanoke Airport VA location is so poor and when i went up the chain the management was no better. He was wearing jeans and a button up shirt , my point in that was i do not believe he was the manager or he did not care to come across as professional, i was even told i would receive a call when they did have cars available and 2 days later never received a call

Made reservation online and was informed that there was not enough vehicles for my reservation. Once I received a vehicle the car smelled like cigarettes and musk. Once we brought it back a day early the company tried to charge two days of rental fees to adjust for their financial loss of us bringing the vehicle back one day early and a prepaid fuel. We will not be renting from Dollar if we can help it in the future.

Made a reservation two months ago and now upon arrival told to wait. How long? “We don’t know, until someone turns one in.” “Why do you even have a reservation system if nothing is ready?” “Well, that just locks in the price. The computer tie-in with American Airlines has been screwed up for two weeks.” Save your time and money. Go elsewhere. Still waiting.

This company is terrible I would give it zero if I could we reserved a car at the airport with our debit card were told we could not use that same card we had to have a credit card unless we had a out going flight which I have no idea why that would even matter guy at the counter was no help looked like he could care less called customer service several times and they would not refund our money even though they did not provide us with a car disputed charge on our bank account only for it to be reversed again probably because of this slimy company don't use them they are a scam!
