Orvis is an excellent shop and the best fly fishing store around. The staff is consistently described as helpful, professional, friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and easy going. They provide amazing customer service and are not pushy, giving the feel of a small local shop. They are knowledgeable on the local area and offer high quality materials and service. The free Fly Fishing 101 classes are very good, informative, and extremely helpful. Instructors are excellent at explaining the basics, helping new anglers leave with a much better understanding of the sport. The store offers a great selection of outdoor clothing, flies, rods, reels, and fly tying materials. Their service stands out, with staff going beyond the call of duty to help with issues like replacing a rod section or waders quickly and efficiently. Customers express that they will not go anywhere else now.

Helpful, professional, friendly staff. The 101 Classes are very good and informative. Brett is an excellent teacher! He helped my daughter purchase waders and he went beyond the call of duty and had the patience of a saint!

The Orvis Roanoke is an excellent shop. The employees are friendly and helpful. I've gotten flies, a rod & reel, and fly tying material from them. The free classes are great and are extremely helpful. I'll continue going to receive the high quality materials and service I've come to appreciate.
