Hours: Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs games are fun and family friendly. The atmosphere is great, and the experience has gotten much better over the years. Tickets are surprisingly affordable for any seat. The food is expensive, but the 611 burger is worth the price: $40 for two huge burgers, fries, and a refillable cup. Souvenir cups and popcorn buckets offer discounted refills. The facility is nice, and bathrooms are clean. Discounted beer is available before the puck drops at one bar area. Jerseys and merch are pricey, but that pays for the team’s equipment. The team supports local youth hockey and other activities and does volunteer work. The Dawg Pound are the best fans. There is a clear bag policy, and sealed water bottles are allowed. It is chilly, so wear a hat and jacket. Parking at the Berglund Center has a fee, and a shuttle service is offered. Some find food and drinks overpriced for a small town event, charged like a pro sporting event.
