He was so patient with me after I explained what had happened and what I thought the problem was. He was professional and genuine and we fixed the problem after some tinkering. My driver broke down in Rocky Mount, VA with a failed alternator on our 2023 Silverado 3.0L Duramax. It’s a tough part to find on short notice, and after calling around, most places just said “we don’t have it” and hung up.
Not Steven.
Even though O’Reilly didn’t have the alternator in stock (and honestly, hardly anyone does for the newer Duramax), Steven spent a ton of time on the phone helping us. He looked up the correct part number, confirmed the 220-amp spec, checked surrounding stores, and then went the extra mile: he told us exactly which nearby Chevrolet dealerships were most likely to have it in stock on a weekend and even suggested which ones to call first.
He didn’t have to do any of that. He didn’t make a sale. But he cared like it was his own truck on the side of the road.
People like Steven are why companies earn loyalty that money can’t buy. Because of him, even though I’m based in Florida, O’Reilly will always be my first stop whenever I need parts or help anywhere in the country.
