“I sure wish they carried some of the Christmas specialty items. It would really be nice if they would get in some more of those green grocery totes with the hard bottoms. I use self service checkout in this store most of the time, they are usually pretty short on cashiers and they are not the nicest of employees. That way, I can avoid the hassles. It seems everywhere you go now is mostly self checkout. If we ever want to apply for a cashier's job, we all already have experience!”

“This place is AMAZING. We moved near by about a year ago and stumbled across them. The food is DELICIOUS and the owners are SO friendly and helpful. They have a little bit of everything which is fantastic bc the nearest stores are 15-20 minutes away.”

“I stopped in for some gas. I was headed north, and the first gas station I came to looked pretty good and their gas was relatively cheap at $4.68. But, that’s why they were crowded. And, to make matters worse their card readers on the pumps weren’t working which meant I was gonna have to go wait in line, leave my card inside, and then go back and pump, and go back and get the card, and I said forget it. So I kept driving north and eventually I saw another gas station on the left, but before I turned into it, I noticed they wanted $4.99 a gallon. Forget that – they’re just gouging people. So, I kept driving and this Pineview grocery and deli was the third gas station I came to. I did need to stop because my car was running on fumes at this point. And I was glad to see that they were charging only $4.79. Not a bad price for a mom and pop shop with only one pump. And, once I saw that pump I was thrilled because it was a vintage 1970s pump with dials. I love it when I can stop at a place with those old pumps. And, sure it doesn’t have a card reader so I did have to go inside. But there was nobody in line and there was nobody waiting at the pump. I had the place to myself. The lady working inside was really friendly and held my card while I pumped the gas. I really enjoyed watching those dials spinning — brings me back to my childhood. And I was glad that I was putting money in her pocket. After finishing, I went inside and she rang me up. Again, very friendly. I glanced around the store and saw that they had a reasonable selection of convenience store stuff. No, it wasn’t stocked as big as a 7-Eleven, but if you need some beer, soda, chips, or pretty much the basic stuff that you stop in convenient stores for, she’s got you covered. And the atmosphere is what makes it cool for me. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll definitely stop to use that cool pump and kibitz with the nice lady there.”

“Food Lion is the king of the grocery jungle in central Virginia! If you're like me, there are 2 types of grocery runs. There's the large monthly or bi-monthly grocery run and the quick runs where you only have to stop to get a few items. In both cases, Food Lion has always been my go to grocery store. When looking at where to shop, especially if you are only going to grab a few items, proximity to your home is always going to be a major determining factor. Food lion happens to be one of the most plentiful grocery stores in central Virginia. Virginia happens to be host to the second most Food Lion locations in the country with 278. Number one is North Carolina with a whopping 506 locations as of 2022. Virginia's Food Lion locations account for 24% of the total Food Lion locations in the United States. Because there is always a location close by, (the one closest to me is less than 2 miles from my home) you can take advantage of the convenience of not having to drive more than 20 minutes to get there. The experience of shopping there is outstanding. They always have competitive prices on most everyday items, and if you are an MVP member you can save a lot of money on the weekly deals they offer. I always take advantage of their "buy one get one free" sales on snacks and drinks. Their off brand Food Lion products are great quality as well. The produce section has to be the crown jewel of the store. They have an outstanding selection of fresh fruits and vegetables in season and out of season. You can also be proud of the fact that Food Lion offers an excellent selection of locally grown produce while in season. So, if supporting local agriculture is something that his high on your list, Food Lion does an excellent job of providing local farmers with a place to sell their goods. The staff and cleanliness of the store are great. I am always greeted with a hello when I walk in. Whenever it is time to pay, the cashiers are always pleasant and ask me if I found everything I was looking for. The politeness of the cashiers is always something that determines how often I go to shop somewhere. The speediness of the checkout process is pretty good most of the time. They have some self-check registers available if you don't feel like interacting with anyone. The only gripe that I have is they sometimes don't have enough registers open when there is a high volume of customers trying to pay for their groceries. When walking through the aisles, you never see products thrown on the floor. They do an outstanding job of keeping each aisle clean and making sure the shelves are in good order. This has an effect on the shopping experience, and they do a great job of making sure the experience is a pleasant as possible. The attention to detail that Food Lion displays is unmatched. The politeness of the employees, high quality produce and products, and cleanliness of the store really make this shopping experience king.”
