“Community atmosphere and friendly members. Excellent instructors. Family friendly organization. Food pantry located in front of facility. Very welcoming atmosphere.”
“Joining this YMCA might be the best decision I've made since moving to Richmond. Super clean, great pool, and everybody is so friendly, staff and members alike. I also love that I can go to any Y with my membership, has come in handy while traveling or even just checking out the other Ys in Richmond.”
“This shop is ran by the sweetest ladies ever! So organized and I never leave empty handed. Especially with such amazing, actual thrift store prices! I always donate here, and know that everything is going to a great cause and back into my community!”
“I couldn’t believe my good fortune in finding this co-op! Such a great mission and it’s a great way to meet new bike friends and to learn how to wrench on your bike at the same time. Everyone is a volunteer, so there’s no one pushing to sell you something. I came in there wanting to change out my drop handlebar for a flat bar. Sounds easy, but was really quite a project. I worked with Luke, a 20+ year bike tech veteran. He was a patient teacher and I learned a lot. He was also an inventive problem solver. There were a few times when I thought we were at a standstill and then Luke would magically pull out just the right part from the endless bins-of donated parts just waiting for the exact right application to have a second life. If you’re a fan of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, and love “talking shop” about bikes, you have to check this place out. They even have a legit commercial espresso machine to keep everyone’s spirits high!”
“The absolutely kindest staff! Myself and a few other new recruits stopped in on the way to basic and we were like kids in a candy store! They were so nice about answering our questions and made sure we were comfortable. The USO is my new favorite part of being active duty!”

“This is a really cool place for those who like to craft on a budget. If you need it, they probably have it, and the prices are super low. Not in the greatest section of town, I wouldn't go after dark, and parking is limited, but worth the trip!”
“Purchased a dishwasher, new in box for a third of cost. They have used everything too. Doors, cabinets etc and all kinds of household items and appliances. Tools, paint, flooring. But if you see it buy it! Too great a price to hold out. Never know what you might find.”
“I participated in a volunteer activity at the ToolBank where we (in groups of three) built four picnic tables to be placed in the community. While I'm sure the highly skilled people running the bank could have built the same picnic table in 20 minutes that took us three hours, this was an excellent team building activity and was a lot of fun. I learned a good bit about using different tools and I felt a great sense of accomplishment at the end. They also sell kits to make the picnic tables at your own home, and then place in the community.I had no idea that the ToolBank existed, and will definitely use them for future needs for my nonprofit. I even noticed folding chairs, tables, and coolers. Will definitely use them for any and all event hosting.”

“Just joined and outside of the limited hours, this is a great gym. I like the hatha yoga class with Gary, and even at peak hours there's enough space to keep moving.”
“The par-3 course is an easy walk and one of the few golf options in the city. The driving range gets busy on a nice day, but again, a product of limited public golf options nearby”

“This is coming from a teen who was in the crisis unit- it’s amazing. I’ve been to many crisis stabilization units, and Saint Joseph’s by far is the best. At other crisis units, the staff just act like they’re your doctor, you mostly just sit there and watch tv, and the only thing the staff cares about is your meds. At Saint Joseph’s, is was completely different. I bonded with the staff, along with the other teenagers and children. The children and teens bonded too. The staff truly cares about how your feeling, and how they can help, they truly want what’s best for the kid, and they are the nicest most understanding people. Saint Joseph’s crisis unit actually helped me, unlike other crisis units. I highly recommend this to a teenager in need of mental health help. These people are a blessing!”
“Since joining the MBL I’ve gained access to resources I would have never known existed for a micro business like myself. I am so pleased with the results and will be coming up on my one year anniversary soon!”
“I've stopped here a few years back when they had vegetable sales and/or a special event (selling food). They showed me their list of programs for helping people in the community and I was very impressed. The building, parking lot and gardens are always in top condition.”
“This was an amazing place for us in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Saw Mr. Bob for the first time in over 35 years. Almost brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for believing in us, Gilpin Court babies!!”
“Love this place, always in and out, the staff at the front desk are so polite and well mannered and Dr. Murchie is the best such a thorough doctor every visit. I am happy to consider this place my doctor’s office.”

“We had a wonderful experience donating through Feed More! We were able to run a food drive through our school. They answered all of our questions promptly via phone & email. They went above and beyond with helping us organize and deliver goods through a field trip. Donation boxes were provided and shopping carts were able to help us move goods in & out quickly. Will be donating through them again!”
“The YWCA RICHMOND is an amazing organization with extremely motivated workers dedicated to making a real change in Richmond Virginia. I enjoy showing up each and every day. From the YWCA Hotline, to the Illustrious Sprout School to our amazing Social Workers, we are here to make a difference in the lives of women, children, and people of color!”
“I often shop here and there are lots of great finds, but I have to share my deepest appreciation for Emmy and Pat. I accidentally donated a pair of brand new pants that my son got as a Christmas gift, and never thought we'd see them again. We went by the store the next morning after realizing and they took our contact information and must have shared it with some other employees, because I went back by after work and spoke with Pat in the store who listened to my issue and we were joined by store manager Emmy who had heard about our quest for these pants and after speaking with me, remembered seeing them and somehow went in the back and FOUND THEM! I was so very grateful as was my son and I just wanted to say how awesome they were!”

“The volunteers that come to the parking lot are gracious in that they bring cooked food and sandwiches with snacks to people who are in need...the homeless. There is a group who sings worship songs and pray for others.”

“I have been a longtime member of Antioch Recreation Association and I can't rave enough about the experience. If you're looking for a peaceful, uncrowded place to unwind, this is it! The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing day in the sun without large crowds. The lifeguards are very attentive and professional, ensuring that everyone feels safe while still maintaining a very welcoming vibe. Their friendly smiles and occasional chats made the experience more enjoyable. The snack workers are not only efficient but also they care about customer satisfaction. Whether it’s a quick snack or a refreshing drink, everything was served with a cheerful attitude and awesome service. The manager was visible throughout my visit, checking in on guests and staff alike, making sure everything ran smoothly. Their dedication to maintaining a clean, welcoming, and safe environment is much appreciated. Antioch Recreation Association is a great escape, and the staff make it a place you’ll want to return to. I highly recommend!”
